Our daycare told me this morning that one of the infants in Mason's room is in the hospital with influenza A. Is this just the regular flu?
Does anyone know if Mason was to get it how long after he was exposed that he would start having symptoms?
He did get a flu shot, I'm just paranoid about this. I didn't want to google it and freak myself out.
Re: Influenza A
K had it last year (as well as when she was 5 days old) I don't know when she was exposed... guessing YMCA daycare. It came on fast. At first it was like a cold then it was like the cold from hell with high fevers, runny nose, sneezing, tired, puking, etc. She had this weird dry cough for weeks.
center for disease control has a lot of information about it on their website.
It will be a if he has it you will probably know it... at least that was my experience with my daughter.
Influenza A specifically could be a standard flu strain or H1N1; however, H1N1 is kinda like regular influenza now since it is included in the vaccine.
