So have you noticed that since you became pregnant your dog is super clingy? I call my pup the Barnacle Dog because she not only follows me around, she has to get as close to my face and/or belly as possible. At night she has taken to doing a night patrol and making sure the house is safe (??). It's funny...Of course, it could just be that my dog is nutso. Stick out tongue

  • Our dog has always been super clingy, so it would be hard to tell any difference. We adopted her, and she had been pretty badly neglected. Ever since we got her, she needs to be in whatever room we are in, and she likes to sleep with her head on you, preferably on your shoulder, or sharing your pillow with you. She's not small (just under 40 pounds) but she's under the impression she's a lap dog.
  • My dog is a rescue as well. She was abandoned in an apartment for a week or so until someone found her. She has always been needy too, but lately it's off the charts. I read somewhere that dogs go into protection mode when they sense a new member is entering the pack. At least I hope that's what's going on. Sometimes, I wish I could just explain to her what's going on. Ha!
