Poll - Insurance Co-Pay

What is your insurnace co pay. Just curious what is the norm now... (especially every time I go to the doctor they are floored by copay)

[Poll]

Re: Poll - Insurance Co-Pay

  • Ours is 45 (pcp or specialist). Every single time right now when I give them my new card, I have a 5 minute discussion with the person checking me out about how much it went up (from 30).

I hate it. I don't go to the doctor much when I am sick, but will put it off more now until I am REALLY sick since it is so high. Evie I will bring in whenever and don't care about the co pay for her.At least physicals / preventable appointments are covered in full and no co pay

  • Is this for primary care or a specialty?

ETA: Mine are $15 for my pcp and $40 for specialty visits

ETA Again: $0 for annual physicals. Now I'm done.

    Happiest place on Earth!

  • $0 for well-care and $10 for other office visits (sick visits, specialists visits, etc)
  • $0 for well-care, annual stuff, preventative, etc

    $15 for sick visits, etc.

    $50 for emergency room visits

  • SS- we don't have a copay, BUT we have a $3000 deductible and then 90/10 coinsurance. I would love to go back to my days of copays! You don't have to pay  copays for Evie's regular checkups do you?

Regular physicals don't have a co pay at least!

  • We are on a catastrophic (high deductible) plan.  We don't pay co-pays but we pay for visits "in full" after insurance adjustments.  So I usually just toss up the deuces upon leaving and wait for the bill in the mail.
  • $25 for pcp and $35 for specialists.

$0 for well child.  May also be $0 for an annual physical for me, I'm not sure.

  • $25 for regular checkups/illness

    $30 for specialist

    $50 urgent care

    $100 ER

I *think* it changed this year, but not totally sure.

  • We pay $2 for ALL pcp office visits, $0 for specialty, and $15 for ER.

  • My co-pay for office visits isn't bad, $30, but from there it goes downhill fast.

$60 for specialists (DS1 has asthma and allergies, he sees specialists at least twice a month)

    $100 for urgent care

    $250 for ER

  • $0 for well care, $15 for everyone else.

I have an Blue Cross HMO so that makes a big difference.

  • co pays have killed me this winter with both kids being sick over and over again! $25/ per visit & we have to pay for each well visit!

Same here! We have a $2500/family deductible that we have to meet but then everything is covered 100%. We set up an HSA account to pay our medical bills out of because we can claim it on our taxes at the end of the year.

  • Ours are $10 for pcp or specialist.  ER is $25.
  • No co pay, but only because I have an HSA with a deductible of $3,200.
  • $15 copay for an office visit, whatever the doc is (specialists too).

    20% copay for most meds.

All of my infertility stuff is a 20% co-pay as well, so our IVF cycle will cost us about $2500 OOP (plus another $500 in copays for meds) which is actually really good.
