5 years ago today, I walked into work to show off my new engagment ring, as I had just been proposed to over the past weekend.
Today...I walked into a jewelry store and SOLD IT! I didn't realize the irony of the date until I had to fill out when/where/who gave it to me for paperwork.
I held onto my wedding set for about a year and half until I was certain what I wanted to do. I got a few quotes and honestly was suprised that I got what I wanted for it (not ideally what I wanted, but I had a price in mind and got it). I didn't want to hold onto it or turn it into anything else...he didn't deserve it back, so hopefully someone else can find happiness with it.
Time to pay off more debt...and ultimately work towards a better future. That feels much better than holding onto the rings!
Re: Well, isn't that ironic?
Glad that you were finally able to let go! I know it is a great feeling.

Good for you
