Going on my first all inclusive to Jamaica...Help please!

Hi!  My husband and I are going on a trip to Jamaica in a few weeks...We have never been on an all inclusive trip before.  I know I will have to bring lots of sunscreen, and bathing suits.  LOL But aside from that, do any of you ladies have some advice or tips that I might not think of?

Should I be getting some kind of extra vaccination?  Someone said bring medicine in case I get sick to my stomach.  So I should use bottled water for everything like brushing my teeth?

My husband is going to be working a bit while we are there since the trip is a work trip.  I am looking forward to just relaxing, reading, and having some good food and drinks without the kids.

  • I've been to Jamaica twice and stayed mainly on the resorts both times.  I drank bottled water, but was not nervous about brushing my teeth with sink water.  Since I mainly stayed on the resort, I did not look into vaccinations (although I already have Hep A, B, and Flu from other travels).  I always bring things like Imodium and Cipro (again leftover from other travels to riskier places), Tylenol, Advil, etc just in case.

An all-inclusive vacation to Jamaica is so relaxing and safe - have fun!

The water is fine.  You don't need any additional vaccinations.  I always bring something for my stomach and some tylenol because I have a weak stomach.  The only other thing I'd recommend that you bring is bug spray.  I've never had issues with bugs in Jamaica before but a lot of people do.

  • My tip is to bring enough dressier clothes (especially for your husband).  We thought that a beach vacation in Jamaica would require only shorts, sandals, and swimsuits.  Wrong.  Men need pants and closed-toed shoes in order to eat dinner at a lot of the resorts.  We weren't prepared for that (although we obviously should have been).  It was annoying.

  • Thanks everyone!

My husband will have some nicer clothes with him due to having to work a bit.

I didn't think of bug spray.

And good to know that you weren't super worried about the water.

    I can't wait to go!!
