Hello! My Fiance and I had been going back and forth between going on a Mediterranean cruise and just going to Italy, and we've decided (and booked!) a trip to Italy in August for 12 days. We know it's going to be very hot, but we live in Texas so we're used to the heat. ![]()
We have 3 nights (arriving in the morning) in Rome, 3 nights in Tuscany at the Castilla Banfi, 3 nights in Florence and 2 nights (arriving in early evening, so really only one full day) in Venice.
Does anyone have any tour companies they've used in Rome or Florence, or for a wine tour in Tuscany? Any other recommendations for restaurants?
We've already booked hotels, all of our hotels are in city centers, with the exception of the Castilla Banfi.
THANK YOU!
Re: Suggestions for tours/excusions in Italy
My H and I did this bike tour on our honeymoon. The scenery was gorgeous and it was a lot of fun!

I did a market tour and cooking class in Florence w/ Florencetown.com and would recommend them (they have other tours and excursions, I just wanted the cooking portion
).
Have fun (oh and August isn't THAT bad... I think people coming from the States are just so used to the A/C that it seems worse than it is. IME it's not that much worse than summer in VA)!
Sounds like we did the same tour out of Florence! It was the Best of Tuscany Tour through a company called Walkabout Florence http://www.walkaboutflorence.com/
We also did a cooking class in Rome called Cooking Classes in Rome that I highly recommend: http://cookingclassesinrome.com/
I have reviewed both the cooking class and the Tuscany day trip in my travel blog.
We did this same bike tour in July. Agreed that it was great!
We did this wine tour that left from Rome and loved it. The tour, guide and wine were all excellent.
