High protein breakfast ideas.
Help me with this. I'm totally a muffin/bagel/fruity yogurt and OJgirl. Tomorrow is my 1 hour GD test and I failed last time with dagger. I don't want to take the 3 hour again.
Re: High protein breakfast ideas.
Plain greek yogurt is good, but still somewhat carby.
Eat bacon and eggs.
i'd have an incredible edible egg. maybe an omelet or breakfast burrito if you're so inclined?

Why don't you just follow the Guiliana Rancic diet. All you need it a glass of water with cayenne pepper!
I need to focus on this a bit more too. I end up wanting a snack by like 8:30 or 9 every day.
I hardboil eggs about 6 at time. Brett eats them for breakfast and I use them to make egg salad for lunch. I love PB for breakfast - although usually on toast for me. But you could do it with an apple or banana for less carbs.
Also, I think soy milk has more protein/less sugar than cow's milk. Especially if you get plain.

I eat a whole grain English Muffin with a wedge of light Laughing Cow every morning. It's yummy and around 150 calories. Not that this helps you. I just wanted to share. Because I'm bored.

I make a big batch of mexi eggs and eat them for 3-4 days. Scramble 4 eggs and 4 egg whites. Add about 1.5 cups of black beans, 1/2 cup salsa. When you reheat it to eat add cheddar cheese.
Question, though. I did not have GD. if you normally eat a carby breakfast, and you had GD last time, shouldn't you just eat what you normally do just to be sure you don't have GD this time around? or did you just have to take the 3 hr and not have GD?
i think sam brings up a good point, because there seems to be a lot of variability between OB offices w/r/t how they want you to approach the GD test. some tell you to eat normally, some say to eat protein rich, some say to fast. i wonder, does that (probably statistically insignificantly, but still) affect who gets diagnosed with GD?
for purposes of my own amusement i really want to pretend GD stands for goddamn right now.
My breakfast usually consists of some sort of fiber bar during the week and egg white omelettes with chicken or turkey and cheese/veggies on the weekend so I'm not sure I'm a huge help, but if you really want to maximize protein, why not consider a protein bar of some sort?
Or you could just go this route:

This recipe needs a cup of sugar, some butterscotch chips and a dash of vanilla. Mmmm oatmeal cookies for breakfast.

Make quinoa with milk instead of water, and a healthy sprinkle of cinnamon. MIx in berries.

I had these for breakfast this morning and they were awesome!
J had his with some frozen berries that I simmered with some water to make a sauce. I ate mine with a spread of almond butter. I am going to make a huge batch of them this weekend to freeze.
