Alabama rolls into town to play Mizzou on October 13.  Are you going?  I really, really, really want to go to a game when we play y'all there, but it won't be 2012.

What's the general consensus of the fans on joining the SEC?  It's so weird y'all are in the East! That's Alabama and Auburn's fault- they didn't want to split us between the two divisions because it could kill some traditions (Alabama v Tennessee and AU v UGA).

Re: **JessyKV**

  • We would love to go but I am not sure what games we will try to go to next year.  The next home game is Homecoming on 10/27 and we have talked about trying to make that this year.  I am sure Brent will go to a few games this year.  He wants to try and go to an away game.  We only live 2 hours away from Columbia so its an easy trip to go to home games.

A lot depends on how TTC this spring goes.

I think at first a lot of fans were upset that we will be losing some big traditions and long time rivals like the border war with KU but now I think most people are excited and ready to take on some new teams and see how we do.  I think most people feel like we are moving up to the big leagues lol.

  • If y'all ever decide to come down here for any games, we're pretty close to most SEC schools and you're more than welcome to stay with us!

I hope TTC goes really, really, really well and quick!

I can imagine the transition is hard; I would be so upset if we left the SEC.  I feel like our conference really is the big league, but then again, I'm very, very biased.  In years past, it's been hard to move past the SEC championship because we all beat the crap out of each other.  Now that really good coaches are moving in and there are more offensive coaches, game plans have changed a lot and some teams just dominate... and the teams change every year.

Y'all are coming in at a good time.  I watched a lot of Missouri football this year and I honestly believe y'all can take the East.  UGA has the most favorable schedule, so I think it will be between Mizzou and UGA.

Texas A&M got treated like a redheaded stepchild when they made the move, especially by Texas.  I don't blame A&M for wanting to get away from them!

  • Thanks! That would be so awesome to visit!

I have a hard time backing plans for the last half of the year because I am hoping that I am pregnant by then and I am not sure what I will feel like doing.  I know I shouldn't plan my life around it yet but I am a crazy planner lol.

I am excited to see how this year goes! I am amazed by how much you know about all this.  I try and keep up but mostly I just know what H tells me.  I love Mizzou and football but I don't get into all the details too much.  I really hope we do well this year and prove we are worthy of the SEC.

I'm a planner too, so I completely understand.

I listen to too much sports talk. ha

TAMU is most definitely the redheaded stepchild of Texas....lol

I know and don't understand why it's not Texas Tech.  I'm glad we're getting A&M [now that Coach Fran is gone].  It'd be hard to play for another team when Texas rules the roost.  I mean, their own network?  C'mon, that's hard to compete with.

  • Okay, I definitely wrote a nice long response last night on my phone, and it crashed when I hit send. Angry moment of the evening.

Anyway, I HAD to hijack this post :)  I'm pretty excited UGA will play Mizzou, although it messes up our South Carolina schedule. I'm also quite confused why A&M is even in the conference. Mizzou being "southeast" is pushing it enough, but Texas?? What's next, UNLV? USC? lol. This just tells me it's more logical than ever to have four superconferences.

Should be interesting, no matter what!
