Do you wear a hat at the beach/pool?
I want to protect my face and while I will have my sunglasses, I want to be able to wer a hat.
I have a large-brimmed hat that I love(!) but I don't know how to pack it without completely crushing it, and feel a bit embarrassed wearing it in the airport.
Do you wear a hat when you're at the beach or pool?
If so, is it packable? Could you include a link?
eta: Looking for a wider brimmed hat that is packable and non-grandma-ish looking...

I do I'm white, I don't tan ever, wear 50 SPF etc.
I bought one at TJ Maxx then lost it in India. It was really soft and folded up. Then I bought another one in Spain which is even softer and easer to fold.
These hats have SPF http://www.sunprecautions.com/shop/womens/hats

I have a beach hat that I bought in Grand Cayman that travels really well. The brand is Scala and it looks pretty similar to this one but my hat is beige: http://www.everythingbutwater.com/browse/products/scala/hats/47319+lp119+104.html
I just lay the hat on top of my clothes in the suitcase. It gets a little smashed but looks fine after being out of the suitcase for a few hours.
I always wear a hat by the beach/pool. Mine is a San Diego Hat Company, I bougth it from Amazon, this is a link to a similar one (mine is this same style, but only the ligth beige color, no black) and it comes in a million colors. It squishes up flat and when you unfold it, there's no wrinkles! It's a great hat.

Here's another link, I can't find my exact one though, sorry! I forgot to mention that my hat is an SPF 50.

This was us too. It also helped because the part on my head burns SO easily and it is super hard to put SPF up there! DH has a buzz cut and his head burns too! Just remember your ears!
I have one that looks like Gilligan's hat, it lives in my beach bag. It's not fancy but it does the trick.
I also have a brimmed straw one that rolls up for packing, but I use the cloth one more.
Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!
i rarely wear one but i always bring my yankee baseball cap just in case-and have needed it from time to time when it's just freaking hot.
since you only want to have your face in the shade you dont need a huge wide brimmed hat all around-just the visor area.
