Re: clicky poll: nose piercing

  • Yours is so tiny that it's hardly noticeable.
  • I didn't realize you had your nose pierced! Coulda fooled me!

I think it's really cute, especially if it's just a small stud. Something big and obnoxious gets the side eye from me on anyone, but a little stud is really classy IMO, mom or otherwise.

I have a lot of sinus trouble and a nose piercing would be a hot mess on sniffly me, but I've always like them on other people.

  • ss- yours is small, cute and classy- perfect style of nose piercing. mom or not, it looks good. but 10 years from now, when we're closer to 40, that's probably when you should take it out. it's cute now, while we're young- but when we're older, it looks like you're trying too hard to be young- even if you've had it forever.

I voted NMS because piercings in general just aren't my thing. I had both ears done (once each) as a very tiny girl (3y/o), but that's it and I'm done, lol.

I don't see the attraction, but I don't think it's really a big deal either way, tbh; a lot of my friends have piercings and tatts and the like, and it's their deal, not mine, lol. I might think a huge septum piercing was a little weird, though.

  • Having not met you IRL and not knowing what your nose piercing looks like - is it one of those really tiny ones that is pretty much flush with the nose?  If so, then it would be fine to leave in.

My honest first thought on this was "Is this something the baby could scratch themselves on our catch / rip out somehow?"  For example, if you had a hoop earring or something - I could see a little finger grabbing that and somehow ripping it out and that could hurt like a b*tch.  So - if it isn't any issue on that front, then leave it in as long as you want.  Otherwise, take it out, but don't worry about what other people think - if someone wants to judge you they're going to find a reason, no matter how stupid it is.

  • I voted to leave it. I can think of 3 friends that are all moms of at least 2 kiddos and still have theirs in.

  • Haha, your quiz is a little funny. I voted keep it, but don't quite agree that moms get their noses pierced every day. LOL, I somehow interpret that to mean a group of Moms are going in. "Alright, I had that baby, now it's time for the nose piercing! Couldn't do it before I was a mom." Wink

I actually just noticed it Saturday and was thinking it would be nice if you had a little diamond bling or something rather than the flesh-toned color it looked like (or did you just put makeup on it?)

  • its totally fine to keep it and agree that yours is cute and theres no reason to take it out just cause your a momma.

lol. ok, i meant people have nose piercings every day. but yes, i put my makeup on without taking it out.. plus it needs to be changed. i have a fresh one but i keep forgetting to switch it. and it is just a little diamond.

  • I think it's just preference, really. There's nothing wrong with being pregnant/a mom and having a nose piercing if that's your style.

FWIW, my SIL has a nose piercing and is an excellent mother. :)

  • The thing is....  just because you become a Mom doesn't change who you are.  I mean, it does...  but IMO you need to be careful about changing stuff simply because "you are a Mom", there is a risk of waking up one day realizing you have given up all those tiny little pieces that make you, you.

ooooh, that's deep on a snowy Tuesday!   :)

i agree. but ever since my husband said it.. i wonder if other people feel the same.

    i appreciate everyone's response. i can't imagine taking it out.. but if i did, i don't think i'd miss it. :) i just hope there isn't a hole.

  • I have a coworker that is in her 40's with teenage daughters and they all have theirs pierced. Hers is so small you wouldn't know just by looking though. Go for it and leave it in.
