non clicky poll: taxes

i'm too lazy to make it clicky...

do you like tax time or hate it? do you usually 'win the lottery' or lose? if you win, what are you planning to do with your taxes?

Re: non clicky poll: taxes

  • i don't hate tax season but i'm mad at last year because i didn't know me and h didn't have to file together. i feel like i win a little.. i get a little money back. :) i usually pay debt, to be completely honest!

  • I hate the large check we have to write every year :(

  • We pay in waaay too much during the year, so we get money back at tax time.

Tax money will go to pay some of H's SLs.

  • I always get a lot of money back. That's how I have it set up on my paycheck. H and I filed together last year after seeing how much we would get back separetely. Filing together, for us at least, gave us an extra few hundred. Cool beans so we're doing that again. And then possibly buying plane tickets with it. We'll see.
  • We usually "win". This year I hope to put all of it towards buying a house. Or paying off medical bills.

  • We are hoping to get money back! It will probably go to my ever growing stack of medical bills. I am hoping we have a little leftover to do some things around the house!

  • I could buy myself a new car with the amount I owe in taxes this year.  Most years I like tax time, but this year I do not.  :(
  • When I was by myself, I pretty much always got some money back. Last year H filed and for us jointly and I believe we got some back (and it went to help with bills). I think when he mocked them up this year, we'll be getting some back...which will go towards bills or housing repair fund.

  • Eh, I like having it over with, if that counts. Sometimes we get money back; sometimes we pay money in. Neither in large amounts, really.

No idea what's going to happen this year... let alone next!

  • i've gotten a refund every year. i don't "like" getting a big refund every year because that means i overpayed throughout the year....*but* i do love getting that big fat check. i don't know what we'll do with our refund this year...(given that we *do* get one)... probably make an extra mortgage payment or put it in savings. we're so responsible.

  • I don't mind tax time, it always reminds me how we don't have to pay income tax in WA :)

It's the first year H and I will be filing jointly, but I think we'll still be getting a refund.  The refund always goes straight to savings.
