weekly book post

Re: weekly book post

  • I am still reading Seven Year Switch by Claire Cook and I really like it. I hope to finish it tonight.  The main character has travelled a lot and now works for a travel company and does some consulting.  She also teaches a Cooking Around the World Class each week at a community center where she focuses on a different country, their food, and teaches them how to cook one recipe. I enjoy reading and learning about food, lol!! Not sure what I am reading next.
  • Finished Mockingjay this past week. I'm really excited for the Hunger Games movie!

I need to read Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry because the girl I tutor 4x a week is reading this for LA and I've never read it.

I also need to read Catcher in the Rye (was supposed to read it in undergrad but didn't), and re-read The Outsiders (and technically re-read Weetzie Bat but will probably just skim parts because it was really hard to read the first time) for my YA Lit class that starts next Monday.

I also just picked up Jodi Picoult's Sing You Home for the Book Club.

I just hope I get time to read this week between subbing all four days and tutoring 3 of the 4 days! This should be my last full week of subbing for this teacher (tentative last day is next Mon, which is an institute day), but it may be extended to Tues or Wed. Looking forward to the extra reading time that goes along with not working FT.

  • I am reading The Things We Cherished by Pam Jenoff.  It goes back and forth between the present with 2 lawyers investigating crimes during the Holocaust and the past in Germany (so far).  I am enjoying it so far.

I don't expect to get too much reading done in the next 2 weeks.  I have a ton of school work, progress reports, and preparations for a conference at which I am presenting to do.

  • I finished Catching Fire and I'm nearly done with Mockingjay of the Hunger Games Trilogy. I'm excited for the movie too, I just hope they don't butcher it!
I have a big list of books I want to read, just have to pick what it is that I'll be reading next!

  • I'm currently reading Moneyball. I had started two other books but haven't finished them yet lol. I'm bad about that!

  • I'm at the end of The Handmaid's Tale...and I don't reccomend it for light reading. I think I'm going to need some easy reading after the last two books I've read!
