DH has been working lots of overtime and on top of him working so much they have been nights. When he works nights we get to see each other for about 30 minutes each day and that time is spent with thim playing with the kids. Because he hasn't been around much he has been sending me awful nice text messages lately! He sent me 4 text messages last night while he was at work.

Donna--of course it counts!

My latest review for the review website was a hit--one of the editorial board members, an accomplished poet, told me she loved my writing style and enjoyed the review. The author of the novel tweeted that the review made his day. I was over the moon. I also found some of my reviews quoted on author websites and on Amazon. I'm officially geeked out.

A former student approaching me on the subway on Friday and telling me what a fantastic teacher I was - extra awesome because I only taught at that school for 7 weeks (I was a long term supply). It was my first teaching gig, so that made me extra happy.

H has been out of town for the last 4 days and he called me on Saturday to say he was sitting at a Starbucks in DC and there were parents with young kids there. He said he is excited to have kids and do things like take them out for hot chocolate. That's about the closest he's come to saying he is ready to have kids at some point in the nearish (i.e. less than 5 years) future.

DH told me that he doesn't know how I do it sometimes, and that I am an amazing mother to his children. (basically work FT, and then come home and take care of the kids, always on the go and don't take much ME time). Since he works nights, he usually only has them by himself once or twice a week, and never has to come home from work and then take care of the kids. By the time I get home from work he is ready to "pass" them off to me so I hardly get a break, and am in bed pretty much after they go down, and I have finished up daily chores.

It put a smile on my face because it is nice to hear that I am doing a good job and that he appreciates what I do once in a while. As a mother, I question all the time if I really am doing a good job as one is standing on top of a toy box while the other is climbing the video cabinet. Sometimes I feel like I can't give them the attention that they need because I am alway juggling 2 toddlers.

DH had me snuggle up in his lap last night and he just rubbed my back. He didn't have to say anything, but it put a huge smile on my face. I was so comfy. I should've just slept there, rather than the usual toss and turn in bed.

My mom often tells me that I'm doing a good job raising Darian. It means a lot to me because she's an amazing mom and, well, I learned it all from her.

One of my kids who had the worst ADHD that I have ever seen (he literally cannot stay focused working one on one for more than ten seconds...we've timed it) is going to try meds starting tomorrow. I think there are some kids who are unnecessarily medicated, but this kid is not one of them. He is a bright and sweet kid who wants to do well and could be an awesome student if he could pay any attention, so I am really really hoping that this gives him a chance at being (and feeling) successful.

The nurse practitioner at work today asked me if I was pregnant. When I told her yes and she asked how far along I was, she told me I was glowing and looked fantastic. It made me feel great because my face has actually broken out a bit in the past few days so I wasn't feeling the best.
