Where to live around Conroe?

Hi ladies! My husband is in the military and is looking into going to school in Conroe next year after his contract is over. Does anyone have any suggestions of where we should look at? We currently live in Kansas, and we aren't very familiar with the area. We have two little girls, so a good school is important. We are from a small town and like the small town feel. Any help would be appreciated!

Re: Where to live around Conroe?

  • I would suggest looking in The Woodlands area. You are very close to Conroe from there, but I think it is a nicer place to live unless you are looking into some of the really nice neighborhoods in Conroe. The schools are really good and it is def family friendly. Good luck!

  • We live in a new development called Woodforest that is right between The Woodlands and Conroe.  Lots of the families in our area either work in Conroe or The Woodlands.

There are homes from 150k to Million +.

Another option is Jacob's Reserve, its not technically IN the Woodlands so it might not come across your radar if you are just looking in The Woodlands.  It is close to I45 for easy access to Conroe and The Woodlands and is in The Woodlands school districts (if that matters).  We have a friend that lives there and they are happy.  It is also very close to Lonestar College Woodlands Campus if he ever needs to take classes there.

  • I LOVE the new Woodforest development that sad was speaking of. Also, Montgomery is not too far from Conroe and it has that small town feel.

  • Thank you ladies! I was looking around at Montgomery and my husband had suggested The Woodlands. We will be renting... at least at first until we know if we want to stay in the area.. it'll all depend on him finding a job after school. :)
