Any changes? Milestones? Updates? How are you feeling?

Are you taking any hospital or other birth related classes (birth, breastfeeding, sibling, etc)?  If this is your 2nd+, did you take any classes the first time?

Have you read any books that you would or wouldn't recommend to other expectant mothers?

Do you have a favorite article of maternity clothing?  Or a store you love?

Will you keep your maternity wardrobe after baby comes (store it for future use?) or give it away/sell it?

Re: Babes with Bumps

  • Any changes? Milestones? Updates? How are you feeling? Had my 34 week appt yesterday, nothing special. Saw the PA again and would really like to see my doctor again (haven't seen her since I started rotating), but next appt is already scheduled with the PA. Start internals on Monday...yay

Are you taking any hospital or other birth related classes (birth, breastfeeding, sibling, etc)?  If this is your 2nd+, did you take any classes the first time? We took a delivery class in Nov that talked about hospital policy, what variants depend on the doctor, different medical interventions and relaxation skills etc. Our breastfeeding class was last week, and then we have a caring for your newborn class on the 7th. The only one we had to pay for was the delivery class. I am considering signing up for infant massage too, but I think I may not be able to b/c of when I'll return to work.

Have you read any books that you would or wouldn't recommend to other expectant mothers? Just finished reading Happiest Baby on the Block which I enjoyed. My mom gave it to DH for XMas, so now it's his turn to read. I need to go back and read up on my relaxation and BF stuff though.

Do you have a favorite article of maternity clothing?  Or a store you love? I'm loving the leggings I bought recently, my other pants just aren't fitting as well anymore. And I like just having some long sleeve t-shirts - I'm tired of the dressier things for work.

Will you keep your maternity wardrobe after baby comes (store it for future use?) or give it away/sell it? I'm planning to keep for now, but if next time is a totally different season or whatever I will sell at a cosignment sale and purchase a new wardrobe there too. I have to say though, I am REALLY disappointed with how poorly this clothing is made. I borrowed some things from a coworkers duaghter and I'm embarred to return them - the pants and shirt both got really pilly. I may just buy her another pair of pants...

  • Any changes? Milestones? Updates? How are you feeling? Just over 31 weeks now, but I feel like time is slowing down with the semester starting.  Unfortunately, my last check up was 2 hours after FIL passed, and I was a mess.  My blood pressure was through the roof and my doctor said that if I had seen anyone else, they would send me right to the hospital for 24 hours of monitoring. But my doc is great and I did my best to not get too upset during all the events of the last few days.  Hopefully I'll be back to normal at my next appt.

Are you taking any hospital or other birth related classes (birth, breastfeeding, sibling, etc)?  If this is your 2nd+, did you take any classes the first time? Taking the childbirth education class at my hospital now (6 weeks long, have had 2 classes) and am so relieved that they are really teaching it from a "get up and move around" and "how to manage pain without meds" perspective.  Those areas made me nervous about a hospital birth.  Granted, they are covering all scenarios, but I was worried they would skip over the kind of birth I'm hoping for.  Also did a breastfeeding class a while back.  It was okay-I felt like I knew a lot of it from you girls!

Have you read any books that you would or wouldn't recommend to other expectant mothers? Read Ina May's book, which was an awesome perspective for me.  Also read the La Leche League's breastfeeding book, but again, didn't feel like it gave me much I didn't already know.

Do you have a favorite article of maternity clothing?  Or a store you love? I have really lucked out at Goodwill, and my mom has gotten me a ton of stuff on clearance at Kohls.  I'm living in yoga pants when I don't have to look nice however.

Will you keep your maternity wardrobe after baby comes (store it for future use?) or give it away/sell it? I'm going to sell the stuff I didn't really love or wear and keep the rest.

  •  Any changes? Milestones? Updates? How are you feeling? I am so thankful and grateful that I'm passed the m/s stage. I have been feeling great with the exception of a few days here and there where I just want to lounge around ALL day. My level 2 u/s from last week looked perfect, everything checked out. It's still a GIRL!

Are you taking any hospital or other birth related classes (birth, breastfeeding, sibling, etc)?  If this is your 2nd+, did you take any classes the first time? I took childbirth education classes and a breastfeeding class when I was pregnant with Lily (I'm so glad we took both). I haven't taken any classes since. We were thinking about doing the sibling class with Lily when I was pregnant with Logan, but never got around to it.

Have you read any books that you would or wouldn't recommend to other expectant mothers?

Do you have a favorite article of maternity clothing?  Or a store you love? My favorite article of maternity clothing are DH's pajamas, lol. They're so roomy and comfy. I try to wear bigger sizes of regular clothes before pulling out my maternity clothes. Target and Old Navy are my favorite stores for any clothes, preggo or not.

Will you keep your maternity wardrobe after baby comes (store it for future use?) or give it away/sell it? I have always kept my maternity clothes from every pregnancy. I will definitely be giving them all away after this one since it's our last.

  • Any changes? Milestones? Updates? How are you feeling?  I am feeling pretty good.  A lot better, at least.  I am not throwing up nearly as much!  I'm down to 2-3 times a week from 2-3 times a day.  SUCH a relief!  A week from today, we have our BIG ultrasound. My parents are coming and I'm really excited to see the baby again, although I keep having this feeling that we are accidentally going to see the sex of the baby.

Are you taking any hospital or other birth related classes (birth, breastfeeding, sibling, etc)?  If this is your 2nd+, did you take any classes the first time? We took a childbirthing class and a breastfeeding class the first time around, and I didn't feel like either of them really helped me more than I helped myself through reading, etc.  Specifically, our birth educator was hard core pro-epidural, and knowing that I didn't want one I sort of felt cheated because she gave no advice for natural births and even laughed/ made fun of those who want one.  Looking back, I wish I would have taken a natural birth class instead... but it all ended the way I hoped, so I guess it doesn't matter.

Have you read any books that you would or wouldn't recommend to other expectant mothers? Ina May's Guide was great, I LOVE Hypnobirthing (although some if it is totally crazy like the idea of a pain-free birth, I did learn so much about how to handle birthing and credit the ideas in the book for helping me through.)

Do you have a favorite article of maternity clothing?  Or a store you love? I also love maternity leggings.  I mean really, who wants to wear pants when you can rock leggings?  I have a sweater dress that I really love, too.  I also bought some really cute stuff on oldnavy.com just now, so I'm looking forward to getting more stuff in my wardrobe.

Will you keep your maternity wardrobe after baby comes (store it for future use?) or give it away/sell it? I kept it all last time in a bin and I will do that again, since we are pretty sure we would like to have three children.  When I'm done for good, it will all go to my sister who will hopefully have kids within the next few years.

  •  Any changes? Milestones? Updates? How are you feeling? Not much to report really.  I have my glucose test on Feb. 3rd.  I am still feeling good.  I am starting to be more restless at night but nothing too bad yet.  I did buy my first pair of maternity pants yesterday.  Till now I've made it in my regular pants with or without a belly band depending on the pants.

Are you taking any hospital or other birth related classes (birth, breastfeeding, sibling, etc)?  If this is your 2nd+, did you take any classes the first time? We are registered for the childbirth class on the weekend on February 10th.  We also plan on taking the breastfeeding class but we haven't registered yet.

Have you read any books that you would or wouldn't recommend to other expectant mothers? I am reading What to Expect The First Year and it's got everything you could imagine in it.  I like it so far and know it will be a good reference to have once he is here and I don't remember something.  I also have the Baby Wise book but haven't started it yet.

Do you have a favorite article of maternity clothing?  Or a store you love? I am just getting into maternity clothes shopping and so far I have things from Target and Old Navy both of which I like so far.

Will you keep your maternity wardrobe after baby comes (store it for future use?) or give it away/sell it? I plan on keeping it for now.  We are thinking we will have more than one so it may be useful again sometime.

  • Any changes? Milestones? Updates? How are you feeling? Well, officially in double digits for weeks--yay! We have our first appointment this Friday so I'm excited about that. Hopefully we can hear the heartbeat! I'm starting to feel less sh*tty. Crossing my fingers that this all day sickness is letting up.

Are you taking any hospital or other birth related classes (birth, breastfeeding, sibling, etc)?  If this is your 2nd+, did you take any classes the first time? We took Bradley Method classes the first time around and LOVED them. I highly suggest them. I also attended LLL meetings while pregnant and got acquainted with breastfeeding that way.

Have you read any books that you would or wouldn't recommend to other expectant mothers? TONS! :-) My all time favorite is Penny Simkin's "Pregnancy, Childbirth, and the Newborn" ---it's so comprehensive, unbiased, and well-written. I think every pregnant woman should read it. Ina May's Guide to Childbirth is fabulous as is her new book "Birth Matters".  Jack Newman's book "The Ultimate Breastfeeding Book of Answers" is a must for any nursing mom. As is "The Womanly art of Breastfeeding". A little more intense but very informative is Henci Goer's "The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth"

Do you have a favorite article of maternity clothing?  Or a store you love? I need to go through my old maternity clothes.

Will you keep your maternity wardrobe after baby comes (store it for future use?) or give it away/sell it?  Giving them away to Goodwill after this baby. :-)

  • Any changes? Milestones? Updates? How are you feeling? No real changes.  Nausea seems to have subsided to be replaced by tiredness and exhaustion and of course, that pesky insomnia.  Dr. told me I can take Unisom but I'm scared to take it too often.  Unfortunately, I'm also scared about my 40 minute commute when I've had 3.5 hours of sleep.  So, who knows.

Are you taking any hospital or other birth related classes (birth, breastfeeding, sibling, etc)?  If this is your 2nd+, did you take any classes the first time? No classes yet..I need to choose a hospital and then get signed up for some since DH and my work schedule can get so hectic.  I don't think I"ll go through anything fancy, I don't plan on going med-free or anything.

Have you read any books that you would or wouldn't recommend to other expectant mothers? My Dr. recommended "Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy" and I Couldn't put it down.  Loved it!  I'm currently perusing the library's online catalog for newborn books.

Do you have a favorite article of maternity clothing?  Or a store you love? Not yet, but a coworker just gave me a ton of maternity clothing.  So sweet!  I'm really hoping it fits, I was kind of surprised because she looks so much smaller than me.  But we shall see!

Will you keep your maternity wardrobe after baby comes (store it for future use?) or give it away/sell it?  Keeping!

  • Any changes? Milestones? Updates? How are you feeling?  Less than a week to go until my due date!  So excited to know that, even if she's late, I'm on the homestretch still :)  Exhausted and achy with lots of cramping & braxton hicks lately, so I'm ready to be done.  Hope it means that my body's making some progress though.

Are you taking any hospital or other birth related classes (birth, breastfeeding, sibling, etc)?  If this is your 2nd+, did you take any classes the first time?   No classes this time.... last time we did birth & breastfeeding.  Both were great.

Have you read any books that you would or wouldn't recommend to other expectant mothers?  I really enjoyed "Girlfriend's Guide" as well for it's lighter take on everything.

Do you have a favorite article of maternity clothing?  Or a store you love? I love my maternity skinny jeans (I think I'll actually be sad to give them up after the baby's here)  Most of my stuff is from Target, Gap & Motherhood.

Will you keep your maternity wardrobe after baby comes (store it for future use?) or give it away/sell it?  We're done after this, but I'll hang on to it for a while since I have a few friends my size who I think will be needing maternity clothes sooner than later.

  • Any changes? Milestones? Updates? How are you feeling? Half way done! I have to go in for another ultrasound next week. They need some more pictures I guess. Otherwise, things are good. I'm hungry all the time!

Are you taking any hospital or other birth related classes (birth, breastfeeding, sibling, etc)? If this is your 2nd+, did you take any classes the first time? We do plan on taking some classes. For sure the birthing class. Probably the breastfeeding class, and we might throw in a baby care class for DH since he's a little clueless. I need to look into that soon...

Have you read any books that you would or wouldn't recommend to other expectant mothers? I actually haven't read any books yet. My grandma got me a baby 101 book for Christmas that I kind of skimmed through, but most of the info I already knew.

Do you have a favorite article of maternity clothing? Or a store you love? I have a red sweater that I got from my friend that I just love. I also love my maternity yoga pants.

Will you keep your maternity wardrobe after baby comes (store it for future use?) or give it away/sell it? I will keep it for a future pregnancy. A lot of my stuff I acutally got from a friend who kept it for me, so I'll see if she wants her stuff back.

  •  Any changes? Milestones? Updates? How are you feeling?

     I feel great.  No changes.

Are you taking any hospital or other birth related classes (birth, breastfeeding, sibling, etc)?  If this is your 2nd+, did you take any classes the first time?

We just finished our childbirth class.  It included lamaze, info on c-sections and epidurals, breastfeeding, infant CPR, and postpardum care.

Have you read any books that you would or wouldn't recommend to other expectant mothers?

    Nope.

Do you have a favorite article of maternity clothing?  Or a store you love?

I like JC Penny's maternity department.

Will you keep your maternity wardrobe after baby comes (store it for future use?) or give it away/sell it?

I will use my maternity wardrobe for a few months after the baby comes (til I can fit back into my regular class).  Then I will store it for possible future use.

  •  Any changes? Milestones? Updates? How are you feeling? Had a great ultrasound today! The babies are measuring 35w1d (5 lbs 11 oz) and 35w5d (5 lbs 14 oz) so this makes me feel good... must be doing something right. :) And, I'm feeling... miserable. Guess I should get used to it. :-P

Are you taking any hospital or other birth related classes (birth, breastfeeding, sibling, etc)?  If this is your 2nd+, did you take any classes the first time? We just took the hospital tour because it's a different hospital this time. Last time we did a 4 week course on L&D- I didn't love it because I knew a lot already. DH thought some of it was useful. I also took a BF class and had the same opinion.

Have you read any books that you would or wouldn't recommend to other expectant mothers? Just the usuals. This time of course my reading is focused on multiples.

Do you have a favorite article of maternity clothing?  Or a store you love? JCP yoga pants... heavenly.

Will you keep your maternity wardrobe after baby comes (store it for future use?) or give it away/sell it?Will probably sell/donate... I think we're done. ;)
