Re vaccinations, I don't get it

What's the big fear, your kid will get autism or something? Kids are dying from cancer and the like, and your worried about autism? People can still function with autism

I guess i find it kinda redic, in the broad spectrum of what can happen to your child. Be happy and thankful your kid doesn't have that ebb sore disease like that gals blog.  Quit basing judgements on faulty research, or google research, and vac your kids.

Ending my rant. Now I'm going to make brownies ;)

Re: Re vaccinations, I don't get it

  • I so wish I could tell this mom to get a clue! I don't by into the fact that autism comes from vaccinations. And you know what, I wouldn't care either. I have a cousin with Autism and he is one of the greatest kids I know so that shouldn't be something you fear that your child would get.

  • Agreed. I wish they would google the diseases not the "research" on autism. There are definitely worse things to have. I also find it common to see adults not properly vaccinating themselves. Pertussis is most commonly spread from adult to child. if I were a pedi and a pt/parent refused vaccinations, I would take them to see a child with an unnecessary illness. Stupid fax debate. Stupid Dr. Google.

  • This is a side question related to vaccines. you know how daycares, schools ask for your vaccination records. what if you don't get your kids vaccinated, what do they do then. do they have to notify other parents? I'd like to know if some kid in masons room isn't up to date.
  • There was some report awhile back that said the Dr. that mysteriously found the connection between Autism and vaccinations admitted to falsifying the data.  So...good luck explaining that away Jenny McCarthy.
  • Well, my kid is fully vaccinated. Some believe him to be autistic. Some believe him to not be autistic. I believe he's awesome. He's well behaved 90% of the time. 8% of the time, when he's naughty I can easily calm him. The other 2% is because he's hungry, tired, or in Florida.

We never once regretted our decision to vaccinate. Maybe it did. Maybe it didn't. (although we know that the study that linked autism and vaccines was totally bogus with a control group of, what, 12? pretty sure it was 12 or something ridiculous like that)

If he is autistic I can say that living with a kid with autism is certainly not the end of the world.

    my two cents

4-005.01  Each program must review the status of immunization for all children on entry.

The immunization status of children under 20 months of age must be reviewed again in

March and September to insure compliance with age-specific requirements.  Records of

children who are 20 months of age or older need not be reviewed again until

kindergarten entry except as noted in 173 NAC 4-005.02.

There was some report awhile back that said the Dr. that mysteriously found the connection between Autism and vaccinations admitted to falsifying the data.  So...good luck explaining that away Jenny McCarthy.

The original article that has started this whole autism story was retracted from the Lancet, where it was originally published, in 2010. The retraction means this data has been proven to be untrue, falsified, and inaccurate.

So all this debate was started by "data" that have no truth behind them (it? is data a plural word?)

Not vaccinating = stupid behavior. I don't know what else to say about it.

  • I've been riding in cars for 28 1/2 years and I've never been in an accident, therefore cars are safe. I'm going to quit wearing my seat belt and buckling my kids into car seats. I mean, seriously, how many times have I been in a car and I've never been hurt? Those things must not really be that necessary because my car has never hit anyone and it never will.

    duh
