hi ladies!
just looking for ideas for newborn baby boy gifts that i can make. girls are so easy - i've done made by rae's itty bitty dress with a matching blanket and softie toy, but i'm totally stumped as to what to do for boys that would actually be useful. i love making things that match and have done a softie toy with matching taggie blanket, but it would be fun to expand my repertoire a bit.
what are your favorite boy gifts to make? i don't knit or crochet, though - i'm just barely an intermediate sewist.
thanks!

This is my Pinterest board with things that are all baby related. There are TONS of crafts that I've done on here and almost all of my friends have had boys in the last 2 years. I like doing a blanket, a crib teething guard, and a toy (usually a taggie toy). If I don't do that, I do a quilt, a set of 3 burp clothes and some paci holders or a bib.

My brother made a few kimono tops for DS when he was born. The style is unisex though he had girly fabrics, but we didn't know the sex and my brother is color blind. The Martha Stewart website has a pattern. You could pair with some matching simple pants.

DH's cousin (I honestly think of her as my own, but, it sounds weird to say "our cousin" LOL) and DH are having one very, very welcome little guy this April. I'm trying to limit myself to just one or two outfits (I work with knits a lot, so I'm thinking some easy summer pieces in 3-6m, and a cute "Worth the Wait" onesie in newborn). I'll do a little bucket hat- FL beach babies need a few.
I'll definitely do a taggie, all the babies I know love those things. I'm thinking a little cuddle blankie, too- but, he isn't likely to need a ton of full sized blankets and he's going to get them anyway with eight billion showers.
I did one for my nephew in blue, brown, and yellow and it was super cute.

What about a soft book? I think Justinlove posted a red/white/black one she made for LA? (Please correct me if this was someone else!) M has one with farm animals that has been one of his favorites since he was just a few months old.
Fun ideas! It is so much harder with boys. Which is why I'll be in big trouble if baby #2 is a girl.
Here's the fave things I've made my little guy:

I've also made boppy and boppy covers, ribbon block and have it on my to do list to make some busy books too. If only there was more time.
