Rave for currency exchange at Wells Fargo
We are leaving tomorrow for Barcelona and staying in a vacation rental apartment. We need to pay the full week's rent in cash, and while I am pretty sure we could get it between the two of us at ATMs, just to be on the safe side I wanted to have euros on hand. We were too slow ordering them from our own bank (B of A) and Travelex wanted to bend me over the fence (was charging essentially $1.45 per euro). Went to Wells Fargo today and gave them cash and two forms of ID - and they charged a whopping $5 transaction fee and that was it. Got euros on the spot. And somehow their exchange rate today is better than my own bank's: $1.339 to BofA's $1.35.
Anyway just wanted to mention their great service!

Re: Rave for currency exchange at Wells Fargo
I've done that before for a gift. I wanted to give a friend British pounds. It was easy.
Have a great time in Barcelona. It's one of my favorite cities. I honeymooned there so it will always be special.
I also had good luck with my exchange at Wells Fargo a couple yrs ago.
Have fun on your trip! It is well deserved.
