Good News Wednesday!!!

Spill it ladies! Each of you has some sort of good news, I am sure of it! So share the wealth, spread some cheer! If you really cannot think of ANYTHING, then share some good news that is going on in the world!

Re: Good News Wednesday!!!

  • We had several days recently with beautiful blue skies and not too much wind. I was able to profit from a sunny cold weekend to take long walks and soak up a bit of winter sun! woohoo!

Also, we are starting to toss around possible vacation ideas for this year. Thinking either a roadtrip in Germany or winter in Washington DC/New York. But for starters, a little weekend trip to London! Maybe followed by a weekend in Brussels in a month or so.

  • ooohhhh, myblueangel, planning vacations sounds super exciting, and if you roadtrip to Germany we need to have a GTG!

I?ve been somewhat productive today. Haven?t done any work on the translation I will get paid for, but I?ve hung some curtains and gotten them pinned so I can hem them next week after they?ve had time to hang out a bit. And I vacuumed the guest room under the bed, so now I can check that off my list of productivity and have something to offer DH other than "I?ve been nesting" when he asks what I?ve done today. Always good to have an alibi.

  • 1: My house is super-duper clean and I love it. We're a messy couple, but the last week or so, I've just been tackling one task at a time and now it's all super nice and clean and clutter free and I love it.

2: The reason I actually started cleaning 1 area in the first place, was because DH's parents were coming back from Milan and we decided to pick them up from the airport, have dinner here and then drive them home (they live quite a ways away from here). They usually take the train home, but with FIL being hospitalized and stuff in Milan and not knowing exactly how he was doing, we didn't want them to have to haul luggage and stuff, so we did a good deed :-)

Which leads to 3: FIL was doing awesome. They still haven't figured out exactly what caused all the problems, they know it was a reaction to stress, but normally a body is supposed to be able to handle that. However, I'm confident they will find out and for now he was doing really really well, so that made us very happy!

  • Just found out a friend of mine is pregnant. I'm so happy for her and her fiance!
  • I made James a dairy free fish pie for the first time last night and he loved it. He ate a huge bowl of it and then slept well last night and was in a really good mood tis morning. I have made a big enough dish that I can freeze 5 portions of it. Yay! Wow I am sad that that is my good news.

  • We made some more progress on our trip planning this year, and just booked weekends in Bordeaux and Amsterdam in March and April!

I get my bonus number tomorrow, and indications are it's not horrible.

I leave for the Maldives in nine days!!!

We are planning to do a weekend in Bordeaux as well! Haven't done too much research as to what we want to do, but I'm pretty excited about that one too!

  • I received a unanticipated ?13,000 yesterday at work which will help my budget numbers, although I don't get to keep that money, I am in fundraising.

DH has beenhaving huge management meetings lately and our proposed plans to move back in 2013 look like they might fit in really well with their company plans, which would be greawt as they are paying!

That's a great accomplishment when you're trying to get a kid to eat more! Especially something as healthy/hard to appeal to kids as fish.

  • I've been saving this for a Good News post, but BF will be in London next week for work, so I booked some cheap RyanAir tickets to fly over next Friday and spend two nights with him.

But since it's only two nights, I'm leaving my sig ticker as it is. Wink

  • Gilli, hope you have fun in London! That is great news!

And I would like to add to my good news that I have been extremely productive today! house is almost clean!

  • BabyGirl has a spot at the same daycare as BabyD! This is big because it means I can actually go back to work. Even if it's for just a couple months before we move.

  • Remember the PFT from my knitting group that I exchanged phone numbers with in mid-December? Well she texted me last week to ask me to meet for coffee. I met up with her on Thursday and we had a great time. She invited me to join another group. This one is a Spinning/Textiles group and she runs it. She also told me to let her know if I wanted to get together again. Our knitting group has been on hiatus since mid-December and won't start back up until the 27th. So I texted her yesterday and we are meeting again today for coffee. I've decided I'm also going to give her other group a try. They meet on twice a month and their next meeting us Tuesday.

So in summary: Yay for making a new friend and yay for getting out more!
