I did the TT cheat

I had heard about it before with pocket frogs but never tried it so I did this weekend. Worked well. However, afterward the 3 hour off stocking VIPs didn't work on anything for a day and even though I added citizens it showed the apartment as empty. I think testing that too much could get weird. Anyway I am a few bucks away from the 499 buck Tron elevator and then I plan to start moving floors around and color coding more to make it easier. I'm at almost 50 floors and it's getting harder to manage.

This is my plan after getting the elevator too.  I have something like 75 bucks to go before I get there.

It really does get hard to find people after a certain point.  I tend to avoid those challenges unless I'm planning to devote a lot of time to it (I have almost 200 residents now).

  • Dude, how do you have so many bucks? I have 48 floors on my iPad and only like 70 bucks. I have the gold elevator.

  • I'm embarrassed to say that I tried the cheat as well.  I've found that if you actually quit TT before changing the time, those weirdnesses don't happen...

Seriously.  I feel like I've been saving for that 499 elevator for MONTHS.

Although one time I wasted a whole bunch of bucks trying to fully stock my whole tower to see what happened (nothing happened).  It was a while ago and before I even got the 125 elevator.  But I still get annoyed thinking about it, because I'm convinced I would have the damn elevator by now if it weren't for that.

  • I've been stripping.
  • When does the Uber elevator show up in your elevator menu?  I have the $125 elevator and the game is telling me that I have the best one.

I've started keeping a paper list of where Bitizens are so I can find them quickly for the Tower Buck.

  • Okay, so now I've got 15 floors and I'm wondering if this gets more interesting at some point or if it's just more of the same. I'm not super feeling TT and I'm wondering if I'm doing it wrong.

Do you have the Droid version?  I do, and it says the same thing to me.

  • It's pretty much the same the whole time unless you get involved with the Bitbook and what the Bitizens are saying.  I evict any resident who doesn't have at least a 7 (or whose dream job matches a floor I already have), and the Bitzens are posting about mysterious disappearances and evil landlords.  I mark those complainer for future eviction if someone better comes along.....also the ones who complain about not getting new clothes  or comment that everyone wears the same stuff every day.

  • Awww, dirtyred is kind of mean.

When mine complain about their clothes I change their outfit.

  • I am only halfway to the super elevator. But I only save $25 a day, and then anything over that I spend on bitizens. I am obsessed with getting everyone in dream jobs. So I fill a space and then evict immediately if their dream job isn't a business I already have. I've got about 60 out of 90 in dream jobs, and 14 of 30 business floors have 3 stars.
  • Dude, Duckis, that is impressive.  Do you place them in their dream job regardless of how high or low their number is, or do you only keep the higher number people around?  I'm a bit under 50% for people in their dream jobs, but the majority are 9s with a few 8s and one 7 mixed in.

  • Winged, if you close the app and then double click the home button and close the app fully there, if you open it again, your Bitizens should be in their new apartments.

I also thought I was obsessed but the other poster who has a paper trail of her Bitizens is clearly the TT Queen.

  • I spent a ridiculous amount of time color coding my bitizens on Friday. I already had the floors sorted, and now with the color coded bitizens (GENIUS IDEA) it's really easy to find them now.I did have a few complain about their outfits on bitbook, though, ingrates.

I'm collecting about 50 bucks a day now, which is amazing. I was able to upgrade my elevator to the $75 one and I have 30 bucks towards the next upgrade right now.

I did use up a lot of bucks upgrading the amount of stock my floors could hold. If you haven't done that, you should, because you make a lot more coins while you're sleeping. I woke up to $275,000 this morning!  I have 47 floors.

Oh my god that is genius.

What do you do, like a floor of red, then yellow, then pink, etc. and start over again?

  • I think it was Cali's idea. Everyone who works in food service wears green, everyone who works in retail wears purple, and so on. That way when the picture pops up and he's wearing green, I know that he works in the food floors and head there first. 9 times out of 10, they're at work. Sometimes I have to go look in the residential floors, but it's still so much quicker!

SB this is a good list of strategies for maximizing efficiency on the tower. This is the plan I am going to implement once I have the tronivator. It has sections for managing the tower layout and the bitizens

    http://www.destructoid.com/tips-and-tricks-for-maximizing-efficiency-in-tiny-tower-205704.phtml

  • I thought I had posted this, but it's not showing up and now I'm on my phone. So sorry for the wall of text. Cali, I do put them in their dream job regardless of their number. Dream job doubles the output of your stock, number is just a % discount on stock. So even a 0 gives you twice as much stock for the price where with a 9 not in their dream job you only get up to 27% off. But, ultimately I want 3 dream job/9s in each business. What I do is keep 1 residential floor more than positions I have available. So right now I I've 30 businesses (90 job openings) and 19 residences (95 residents) so I can play around with the extra five spots. My next business will be food, so if a resident moves in with either a 9 in food or a dream job with a business I already have I keep them. Everyone else is kicked out immediately. When I move a new resident into a dream job, I'll see if anyone already there has a 9 in food. If they do, they stay. I'd not, they're out. If I already have 3 stars on a floor and get a new resident with that dream job I do a quick switch to get the 2 bucks. If the new resident has a hire number than one of the old ones, they stay and I evict the lower number. If the new resident has the lowest number I will fire but not evict one of the 9s, hire the new guy, get the bucks, evict him immediately, and re-hire the 9. Hop that makes sense.
  • I'm doing something similar.  I keep people if their dream job is something I have and need OR if it's a floor I don't have yet but have less than three people with that dream job.  So once I get all the floor types (I think I have about 40 floors to go until then), I can have three stars for each floor.

The dream jobs and the maximizing of level for each floor is I think the real way to make money.

I also do the same thing with new people to get the bucks for the dream job, then evict.

  • I do a similar strategy except I don't do a good job of keeping more bitizens than jobs. I like my people working. No lazy ass welfare folk.

  • I didn't realize that the number affected the discount on stock.  I don't pay attention to how much anything costs -- just that it needs to be stocked.  Maybe I'll change my strategery to allow more dream jobbers in and not worry so much about having only 9s working.

I do the same as you, Duckis, about having more residential spots than jobs, but I spend so.much.time waiting for someone to effing move in.  I wish I knew a way to make that go faster (other than wating a towerbux to get someone in who is worthless).

  • I just spend the towerbucks.  Even with evicting the morons, I still end up even or up in bucks because of putting people in their dream jobs.

  • We are officially the biggest losers on the planet. Officially.

I can't wait to get my people color coordinated. I have my businesses and residential floors organized already and keep them that way every time I build a new one.

  • Hey, guess what? If you change your iPad date to a bitizens birthday, you get a buck!

  • Ok last night was my first big dyelemma. I got two new bits with low numbers (3 and 5) but with dream jobs I have available. So I kept them and they are green smileys but whine about their jobs. I can't wait to boot them. It was awesome though. I had a totally new apartment empty and a real estate agent came and filled it and 4/5 had dream jobs already in my building!
  • In that situation, I would put them in their dream jobs to get the bucks and then give them the boot.  6 is my limit, and even then I kick them out if someone better comes along.

  • I considered that but they increase my stock even with the low number.
