need ideas for april getaway
Help girls. Kira is off from 4/4 until 4/16. If I am going to maintain my sanity we need to go away somewhere. Foreign travel is out because we'll just come back from a cruise at the beginning of February. We'd like to stay in the US but go somewhere warmer that is kid friendly.
Suggestions. I don't have a budget in mind yet so toss out all ideas.
Thanks.
Re: need ideas for april getaway
I"m biased because I"m from there, but Arizona/Phoenix/Scottsdale is beautiful during April (We had an outdoor wedding during april last year!) Tons of sightseeing/educational opportunities there with all the geological and native american stuff, plus some great resorts and shopping.
New York City? Probably not warm, but I always love going there.

I don't think it's a bad part of Texas. We stayed in a hotel right on the Riverwalk and walked everywhere at night and felt safe.
Also Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge would be fun. There's Dollywood, Dixie Stampede, beautiful state parks and tons of tourist trap activities.
San Antonio is a great city! And Schlitterbahn is AWESOME! I also stayed on the Riverwalk and there was tons of things to do at night. It felt safe to me.
I also love Gatlinburg. April is a nice time to be in the Smokies! You could go up and do all the things on the mountains, along with the things pp said. It's also about an hour from Knoxville, so you could go up there for some sightseeing.
