Looking for a reception venue...

Hi folks,

Usually a NJ Nestie, but wanted to pick your brains for information for my bro.  He's planning a Jan 2013 wedding in Philadelphia, as it's where much of our family is from.  Can anyone recommend their reception venue - and anything else we might want to know? I know they looked at the Marriott, the Crystal Tea Room, and 2 other places I can't remember.

Thanks so much!

Re: Looking for a reception venue...

  • I'm a fan of everything Cescaphe does - their main venue, Curtis Center, Tedenza and the new Vie (sp?).   We had our reception at the Curtis Center.  Their packages are all inclusive of taxes/gratuity, too.
  • There are literally dozens and dozens of venues in Center City... I would suggest going to the knot message boards for recommendations.  I personally had my wedding at Trust and thought it was a beautiful venue. It's at 3rd & Arch.
  • Thank you - I will go prowl around over there too!  Figured you guys would already know if you'd had a good experience or not, lol.

  • I got married at Cescaphe, 7 years ago and it was an amazing venue back then and I am sure it still is.  Other great weddings have attended in center city included The Bellevue, The Hyatt Penns Landing, Rittenhouse Hotel, Downtown Club, Ballroom at the Ben, and Four Seasons.

  • I got married at the Down Town Club and looooved it.  However, I think it is best for guest lists that are 175 and under

  • we got married at the Franklin Institute. Very cool venue.

there really are a ton of places that range from traditional hotels to museums to art galleries to historic houses to restaurants to boats.
