Tuesday Accountability

Do we want to keep doing this this year?

My biggest issue right now is eating really well during the week and then going crazy every weekend...

Re: Tuesday Accountability

  • I would like to continue this year.

I think I'm finally over my plateau. I adjusted my eating and added in 30 Day Shred and I'm showing about a 4 lb loss this week.

  • I am the worst dieter EVER. I need to start working out or I am never going to lose this weight. I have been sick since Thursday but once this cough clears up I am going to try and start the 30 Day Shred.

Whoop!!!! This makes me so excited for you. I really thought you weren't eating enough. Was the adjustment eating more of your weekly points? Either way I'm glad something worked.

I've been sick for over a week so I've been eating nothing but junk but I'm not eating much in general so I actually lost a little. I'm coming in at about .4 lbs under my goal. I'm hoping to start working out again soon to tone up for bathing suit season.

    .

Thank you! I adjusted my daily back to where WW had me and I've added in a few weekly points everyday. I'm also focusing more on including enough protien and fiber.

I hope you feel better soon.

  • I've been eating pretty much whatever I want since I'm breastfeeding and yeah, that was not a good plan.  I gained back a good bit of the baby weight that I lost :(

I started watching my calories again though and I'm down 6 pounds!  Since I'm on a roll and enjoying it, I'm going to try to lose all of my baby weight from Braden too.. so 6 pounds down, 25 to go!

  • I'm down 7 pounds total.  I was on a mini vacay this weekend and the places that my friends wanted to go were not a good choice for me but I managed to hold pretty steady (I only gained like half a pound).

I'm trying to work more exercise into my schedule and actually learn how to run.  I run like an idiot and my gait to too short... it makes me look like I'm trotting after a doughnut.

  • There's no such thing as a "correct" gait! Everyone's body mechanics are different. If you want to try to lengthen your stride to be a little faster, just be mindful of any pains. I know so many people who have ended up with serious injuries to acl or IT band because they forced their body to do something in a way it didn't want to do it.

That said, I know how you feel. My stride is pretty short, too, despite being average height. I try to focus on adding power to the push-off (so my leg kicks back more). That way my stride length is actually the same, but I cover more distance in the air ... if that makes any sense...

  • I need this every week. I am gaining and not losing. My stomach got accustomed to eating 500 extra calories a day for BFing. I feel like I am starving all the time.
Another old nestie with a new name.
  • I am still behind in weight gain this pregnancy compared to the first one.  Unfortunately I did gain 5 pounds in two weeks, when the average weight gain is supposed to be about a pound a week.  I truly think I was overcompensating on carbohydrates, thinking I was going to fail the 3 hour gestational diabetes test.  I'm trying to get back on track with watching what I eat so I don't have another big gain like that.

  • I'm slacking for sure with my workouts. I am fairly certain I gained a few pounds back just from eating crap since the holidays. I'm still doing pretty well on portion control however and I'm going to the gym tomorrow since I bought new workout shoes as motivation.
  • I will weigh in this same four pound range for the rest of my life lol.

Ditto all of this...but also, it is actually suggested that people use shorter strides. Shorter strides with higher repetition to get faster ladies. More power on push off (so just more strength) will obviously help as well. Your body absorbs shock best when the foot and leg land directly beneath it. A lot of people who try to lengthen their stride run the risk of severe heel striking with their leg way out in front of them. This runs a much higher risk of injury. Do what you feel comfortable with.

I haven't stepped on a scale in about 4 weeks...so yeah, no clue. I'll weigh in next week. lol

Thanks guys.  Since i've never been a runner/jogger/in shape person it's a learning time for me.  I'm still trying to figure out what actually feels comfortable.
