Hello Ladies!!! I hope everyone had a great Tuesday night at home waiting for the storm!

I'm up, ready for work, planning to head out and wipe the snow off my car and warm it up before I venture out in it to work.

Hope everyone has a lovely day at home doing nothing.. or drinking. You guys have no excuse to not take full advantage of today. so make it count!

I'm trying to weigh how badly I want to do some experiments and how badly I'd rather stay home with a snow excuse :P I also have little interest in standing outside waiting for the bus because it's hard to predict when it will come... and my bed is warm.

ETA: in a rare event, the U closed!

I'm totally shocked that they closed! I don't think this EVER happened when I was in undergrad. It's definitely all snowy here, yay! I feel bad for H though because he has an interview today AND he's getting a cold We did buy cables for the car this weekend (much to his dismay, I'll bet he's glad now!) and he's determined to go unless they email and cancel. He's from AK so I'm not worried about him driving (although he realized our Sentra is no 4-wheel drive truck), but there are a lot of other people who have no idea what they're doing!

Amanda - I'd be worried too. My husband just left for work. I'm hoping that since so many places are closed today people won't be out driving and it won't be too bad for him.

I got official word my office is closed today. I'm so relieved! But of course I'm wide awake and have already started drinking my morning coffee.

my company never closes. during our morning meeting today, one of our 30 year employees says it has closed once in his time here.....my last position here at this company, working from home was okay. this position- not so much. so booooo.

i'm at work this morning (obv), i'm still not feeling 100% from my cold, but i just don't have that much sick time to burn through either. i'm thinking about taking a half day. we'll see.

I just made it into work. Please, I'm begging all of you, don't go out unless you absolutely have to! It's pretty bad out there.

I think I might try to take a half day as well. I wish I'd stayed home. But, my company thinks their employees are disposable so there's no way this place would ever close.

hehe, I just remember thinking that it was a "huge" deal that they closed down and it "never" happens. And my roommate was super excited she didn't have to go to Spanish.

It was 2001. I remember I was an undergrad and had early morning classes. They hadn't announced it was closed yet, so I left for class. I got two blocks and said F it. Glad I did. I would have been really mad of I made it all the way there to find school was closed.

Any how, just another day at home with bkb for me. H is still sleeping, but I am sure he'll stay home too.

Good Morning!!!

I'm super happy this morning because it started snowing over night and we are supposed to get 6-8 inches, and possibly 3-4 more tomorrow! YAY Big Smile

Today: I plan to finish doing some more cupboards and maybe some of the pantry.. we'll see how it goes. Work on the quilt some more... and see if I brave the snow and go out for a walk.

Good morning! My office is closed today, and I was supposed to start my 6-day vacation tomorrow, so my 6-day became a 7-day vacation I might take a nap, but most of my day will be packing and cleaning, since H and I hope to move the big stuff to our new apartment this Sunday. We aren't moving far (like 3 blocks), but I hope this snow becomes slush/rain before Sunday!

Regarding the classes being canceled at UW due to snow, classes were canceled starting at 9:30 am (and I got to miss my poli sci class!) during the first week of Winter Quarter in 2004. I spent the day drinking, building a penis snow structure, and sledding on a construction sign down the hill on 22nd & 45th. It was a great day

Good morning! I am very envious of all of you with snow. I love San Francisco, but I *really* love Seattle in the snow and I'm sad to be missing it by a few days. I hope it sticks around until Friday when I fly up, but it will probably be all gross if it does.

So I woke up early this morning and wasted a full hour updating my Facebook Timeline (do you have that yet?). Then I remembered I had to shower early because they're turning the water off in my building for four hours because the guy above us is having bathroom work done. He tried to do it during the day thinking no one is home, but I don't work so I am. The water off isn't so much of a problem, but the noise is going to drive me crazy! They must be using some sort of saw or drill or something and of course their bathroom is directly above my room so it is so loud. I am going to have to go for a walk or something to get away from the noise or else I will get a headache.

Had a very nice day / evening yesterday - DH just confirmed that he can take a 6-7 month sabbatical so he will be taking off from March - October of this year. I am excited to have him around and to get some traveling done! We will be doing some domestic trips and then going to Europe for 5 weeks. So, since the sabbatical is a "go" officially, I booked all the plane tickets and hotels yesterday. Then we went to dinner last night with friends and it was fun to see them and catch up since I hadn't seen them since before Christmas.

Today I tutor and then am cooking an early dinner before DH goes to the gym to see his trainer. My trainer quit so I have to find a new one and it's super annoying.

Also, my videographer e-mailed me late last night to tell me he is done with my wedding video so I am super excited to get that! He's going to mail them out today if he can get to the UPS office (probably unlikely) but I really just want to see the highlight video for now and am refreshing my e-mail about every 3 seconds to see if it has come through. He gets until noon; then I will call him.

I don't remember it closing in 2001, despite the ice skating rink that was red square...
