We took a TRX class this morning.
I want to die. When we met the instructor she said "So, is this your first TRX class?" and when we said Yes she got this...look. I should have known then that something was up. Three people (including my husband) left in the middle of the class. He went to throw up. I got a bloody nose which may or may not be a coincidence. I want to do. I hurt so bad. It was so hard.
But I am up to the challenge. I am going to conquer this beast if it kills me.
Re: We took a TRX class this morning.
THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT, WENDY.
But, yes, I have come to the realization that I may not have that much fun with SD at Great Wolf Lodge this weekend so I think I am going to hold off on the TRX for the rest of the week and start again next week! When we got home, I got into the tub and CRIED! (Sweet thing though - Dasher came into the bathroom and attempted to get into the tub with me to love on me - so sweet, made it totally worth it).
TRX is basically these cord things that hang from the wall and you use your body weight instead of actual weights. The excercises work your core. Today was pretty intense and she mentioned over and over that this was the most intense class they have had in awhile. Ten seconds of intense, hard core movement, 10 seconds rest. I can only describe it as she wanted you to give her the best 10 seconds of your life. We did 10 sets like that for each position, I guess you might call it. At one point, we had our feet in the stirrup things, doing what I can only call a downward dog motion and I finally just fell to the ground and tried to blend in with the floor.
I've never heard of TRX, but it sounds miserable.
Are you still doing Jenny Craig as well? How is that going?
Yes. I am following the plan but eating dinners on my own - grilled chicken, grilled veggies, etc. We will ignore the massive number of beers I had last week. Anyway, I told my doctor about Jenny and she was very upset. Further, a really fantastic stress reliever for me at the end of the day is cooking. So my doc and I determined that Jenny while at work is a good plan, but when at home, I need to be cooking and being mindful of portion control. I only lost one pound last week but I didn't work out much and I had a pretty wild booze filled weekend so I am happy that I "maintained."
Why was your doctor upset about Jenny? Just curious... I don't know much about that plan.
I'm doing bands at home with P90X and it is HARD. I swear, body weight exercises are just as hard as weights, just in a different way. Embrace the pain! Being sore means you're doing something right!
Doc is upset because I don't have a weight issue. My BMI is 20 and Jenny put me on 1,200 calories a day. I have always been super, super skinny - I weighed just north of 100 pounds when I got married - and she is upset that now that I am a "normal" size I think there is something wrong with that. To put it bluntly, she thinks is a mental thing, not a physical thing. Further, I have grown an inch and a half in the last five years as well. She was appalled that they even allowed me to sign up for Jenny. I like the meals, though, A LOT and the breakfasts and lunches are SO easy. But I love to cook at night. I HAVE to be in the kitchen to keep myself from going mad after work. And if anything, I want to be supportive of DH.
