Universal Studios - HP World (follow-up to earlier post)

So the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride has been ruled out since I'll be 21 weeks pregnant at the time. Would it still be worth the trip to go there? We're really only interested in Harry Potter World at Universal... we were thinking about doing a day trip from our cruise there as we stop in Port Canaveral.

  • The ride is cool as is the whole village. Personally I'd skip it until I could really enjoy the park.

  • To be honest, there is quite a bit that you will not be able to go on, so I would skip the trip.

  • The Harry Potter part is fun if you are a huge Potter fan, even if you can't ride the rides.   There is still Ollivanders, Hogshead bar, Butterbeer, Leaky Tavern, Owlry, and just walking through the cool Hogsmeade Village.  You can go with your husband through the line at the Forbidden Journey and wait for him in the little room that they have right before the ride loads. (I used the waiting room to wait with my toddler while my husband rode the ride, then we switched so the other person could ride.)  The line for the Forbidden Journey is fun because you go through the castle (Dumbledore's office, Greenhouse, Defense Against the Dark Arts Classroom, Hallway with moving portraits of the founders, Dungeon) and get to see the Hologram Ron, Hermione, and Harry.  So even if you can't actually go on that ride, I would still wait in line for it, just for the castle experience!
  • I would wait unless you were ok with just looking at the shops. Plus they're talking of expanding that section, so it may be even better in a year or so.
