This is an awful question.
When someone kills someone else, why on earth do they dispose of the body where it can be found? Like the girl from Mustang in the duffel bag...or Jaymie Adams from Blanchard found by the lake. If you killed someone, why wouldn't you bury the body in a remote spot? Do people just want to be caught by providing clues to the authorities? Are they feeling guilty and want to give the family of the missing/dead person closure? Any psych majors around here?
Re: This is an awful question.
My completely non-psychological thought- because people are stupid. They are dumb enough to kill someone and definitely not smart enough to cover it up.
I'm really curious to find out who Jaymie Adams murderer is. Who else thinks it's the husband? I grew up riding the school bus with that guy!
Is Jaymie Adams the pregnant, CL chick? I definitely think her hubby was responsible as well. Something there just isn't passing the sniff test.
This is totally off topic but the murder that always freaked me out was the one of that ballerina in Norman (Julie Busken?). They eventually found out who killed her (did it take ten years?) - but she was found naked at Lake Draper as well. Her parents were on their way to OU to watch her graduate.
Is she the one that was a prostitute on Craigslist? I haven't been following it much, but when I saw it on the news I immediately thought the husband did it.
Im wondering why there aren't more perfect murders out there. There are TONS of shows out there that could help you plan it.

There are tons of perfect murders out there, unfortunately. We just don't know about them--no one does. :

True! I guess what I meant was I wonder why there are still so many imperfect murders.

I just think it is nearly impossible to have a perfect murder, especially given the technology we have today. I guess I wonder why anyone bothers to murder anyone else because you are going to get caught. And even if you don't OR are not proven guilty upon a reasonable doubt, you will have the cloud of suspicion over you forever and ever a la OJ Simpson/Casey Anthony.
CSI scares me, yo. Not sure if some of that stuff can even be done, but in one episode they were able to isolate the smell from a box and determine it was a candle made from one specific company. Good Lord, that *** is crazy.
I think this is more true in a high profile murder case, but not so when Joe Blow from small town USA is found dead. I think we discussed with Casey Anthony that if she weren't an attractive-ish white female, there woun't have been near as much media attention. The media attention then puts detectives under a microscope and ensures they're doing everything possible to solve the case.
Most places don't have the resources that are shown on CSI. In Tulsa they've laid off several officers and would be hard pressed to justify the cost of new "murder solving" technology. I think most people are lucky to have someone dedicated to their case.
My brother was killed over five years ago and we still don't know what happened. His picture is never on the news. I'm sure none of you have heard about it. I'm not trying to be a Debbie Downer, just saying that CSI, and other shows of the like, have given people this Hollywood image of crime solving that is far from reality.
I'm very sorry about your brother.
But you're right--that is the reality. The CSI shows make it seem like these things are easy and can be solved in a day, when in truth it often takes years to solve a lot of these crimes--if they're solved at all.

OMG, I am so sorry. I hope you and your family have found some peace...it would be really hard to not have any closure.
One time I was in a foreign country in a sketch cab. I pulled out a ton of my hair and left it all over the cab. DH's too. He thought was muy loco but.....it was sketch.
You are too funny! I can totally see you doing this.
Sorry! Just doing my best to lighten the mood...especially since its your bday and all!
