Need anniversary dinner recs
Our anniversary is coming up in a few weeks, and we've cleared the schedule for an overnight staycation in a downtown Kimpton (yay for winter clearance deals) but I need dinner recs. We'd like a great meal but not too foodie - no quail eggs necessary - think Central, that's one of our favorites.
All the places I can think of are in Penn Quarter and I'd like to branch out a bit. Is there something divine in Dupont, Logan, U Street that we should try?
As always, TIA!
Re: Need anniversary dinner recs
we had dinner at blue duck tavern on our anniversary, which was lovely. i am thinking rasika for DH's b-day next month but if you aren't into indian, that's obviously not a good plan. brasserie beck is another favorite of ours
We went to Estadio for my birthday last year, and it was really, really good. It's the sister restaurant (same owners) as Proof. It's in Logan Circle.
Another idea is The Source, but I don't know if that's more foodie than what you want. It's Wolfgang Puck, Asian-inspired food. It's located in the Newseum.
Or maybe Graffiato, the Italian restaurant owned by Mike Isabella from Top Chef? I've been wanting to go there.
We had an amazing dinner at Blue Duck for DH's birthday (when I was 9 mo pregnant, actually!). I made a note in the Open Table res that it was his bday and they treated us like royalty, so I would def. recommend them for a special occasion. We also really like the Tabbard Inn.
i was also going to suggest the tabbard inn. i've also heard great things about the hamilton. its the new clydes resturaunt. i forget where it is.
we had dinner at fire and sage over near metro center before we saw jersey boys and it was REALLY good.
which kimpton are you in? i LOVE them
DH and I went to Eola in Dupont Circle for our last anniversary. It's a prix fixe menu, but it was a ton of food and they accommodated me (I was pregnant) without me even asking. Service was excellent. Although it was a bit empty when we went. I would definitely go again.

I went there in early December, and it was also the best meal I'd ever had. And I am NOT a "foodie" person. It wasn't a very formal atmosphere, more casual, but the food was AMAZING. And they have prosecco on tap. Yum.
