We're having a casual get-together for maybe 15 people. The invite basically said come in jeans, sweatpants, sweatshirts, bring your dogs and kids, and enjoy some beer and food.
So I'm having a casual menu (after going CRAZY for our holiday party in December). I"m fairly positive we're not going to have any vegetarians or other specialty diets there. I"m thinking:
Buffalo chicken meatballs (Some different than the regular ol' crockpot meatballs!)
Chili
Pressed sandwiches (a variety of kinds, yummm)
Chips, guacamole, and salsa
Probably a green salad
Brownies.
Menu thoughts? We're also going to have beer, but I want to put together some sort of cocktail in our beverage dispenser for anyone who doesn't like beer. I don't want it to be too girly, nor do I want it to be anything tequila-based (so no margaritas). Definitely need some ideas for that!
Re: Anyone else having a Super Bowl party?
Haven't planned that far ahead (depends on what the Ravens do) but if possible, can I get the buffalo chicken meatball recipe?
We use ground chicken a lot and I'm getting tired of the same ol' same ol'.
Menu sounds yummy! I'm also a big fan of Dill Dip in a bread bowl or Crab Dip with toasted rounds for parties too. Both are simple and go quickly!
For beverages, what about a big pitcher of John Daly's (Iced Tea Vodka and Lemonade)?
We haven't formally committed to a party yet, but if either the Ravens or Giants make the Super Bowl then I'm sure we'll have one. A rematch of the 2000 Super Bowl would be ideal.
Our menu will most likely include:
I really need to become your friend IRL, you have awesome parties and serve amazing food and I want it.
Here's the buffalo chicken meatball for anyone who wants it: http://cookbookjunkie.blogspot.com/2009/11/chicken-wing-alternative.html

Cocktail/punch idea- have it be based on a color of the team playing? Like if the Ravens make it, make a purple punch, or if the 49ers, a red punch, etc. I did this for the last SB party I had which was when the Ravens won. I don't remember WHAT I put in it, but it's not hard to find just about any color of alcoholic punch.
We are having a party- I invited 5 couples all with kids. We totally don't have enough seating space in front of our TV for that many people- yikes!
I am going to make 2 chilis- one vegetarian but traditional bean/tomato and one white bean/chicken/corn. We will probably have some hot apps- like pigs-in-blankets, spinach and artichoke dip and brie w/ bacon and mango chutney on top. I haven't really gotten past that.
I was thinking the same thing!! That menu sounds awesome!!
