...is how did you keep your pregnancy a secret from your work? I was told when I made my appointment that my first appointment will be approximately 2 hours. And I looked up how many appointments are to come, and I'm just thinking that it is going to become obvious when I am leaving work to go to the doctor so many times. That, and if/when I start to experience some of the more unpleasant symptoms like morning sickness. So what did you tell your boss/co-workers?
Re: So my next question...
I was lucky in that it wasn't too hard for me. I had just started a new job and definitely wanted to keep it quiet at least until the end of the 1st trimester, and was able to do so. My doctor's office does evening appointments, so I would try to schedule those whenever possible, and if I had to schedule something during the day I would try to do it at lunch hour and just take a long lunch. It's a lot of appointments in total, but usually just once a month for regular appointments at the beginning and then ultrasounds, so it really didn't seem that frequent, and I told them after 3 months anyway.
I was also lucky that although I felt like death (tired and nauseous) through the whole first tri, I wasn't actually throwing up or anything. Either way, my desk is sort of isolated (and near the bathroom) so I could feel awful relatively privately.

Yeah, I was thinking lunch-time appointments. That would be nice if I can do evening appointments, will have to look into that. And yeah, my office is quite small and I'm farthest from the bathroom...ugh. Should be interesting.
Yeah, I was planning to wait until 12 weeks, just worried about experiencing morning sickness while I'm at work and what not.
I told my work pretty early because I felt like crap, and unfortunately when you are a teacher you basically have to be "on " all the time. My students and my coworkers noticed me not being myself and I told them around 8 weeks after I had my first sonogram (I had one at 7 weeks to confirm pregnancy). Luckily at about week 14 I started feeling a lot better.
