I'm completely irrational...

Y'all know me- I'm a craft girl.  As you can imagine, I'm ready to do baby things.  I've known I wanted to put his/her name above the crib in wooden letters and had considered buying them one at a time with the 40% coupons from Hobby Lobby, starting with R and Y since both letters are in the names of the boy and girl.

Well, wooden letters are 30% off this week, so in an insane moment, I went to Hobby Lobby on lunch and got all the letters for both Bryson and Riley.  The way I see it, buying them at 30% off and returning the necessary letters after next week's appointment makes way more sense than driving to Hobby Lobby (nowhere near work or home) to buy them at 40%.

This makes sense.... right?  haaaahahhaha

Re: I'm completely irrational...

  • I am with you on this one! I would have done the same thing :-) I hope you don't change your mind on the names! Both are beautiful.  Did you come up with a nursery theme?

  • Hahahaha! That isn't irrational at all! In fact, it makes sense when there isn't a Hobby Lobby close anyway.

I'm a crazy planner...so, I've been trying to figure out how I'm going to manage decorating and such without finding out the gender until birth and I think we'll probably have a few "personalized" items ready with each name and then just set it up when we bring baby home.

  • That's pregnancy reasoning and I totally say it's fine!
  • LMAO!

I can tell this is going to be an interesting pregnancy. ;-)

The names are definitely set in stone.  Now if we could come up with a middle name we like for Bryson, we'd be set.  We've thought Kade, but aren't set on it.

I don't foresee a real theme until we move.  I can't paint or anything at this house.  I know we're doing a pink and light gray for a girl and a navy and gray for a boy, but no real theme.

  • You're absolutely making the right decision...I'd do the same thing :-)
  • You're not irrational- you're excited!  It's really fun to watch all of the pregnant Juneville ladies jump to different fruits each week.

What an awesome girl's name! I might be a bit biased though!

And, your logic makes total sense, maybe just don't tell your H ;). Mine doesn't really understand shopping logic, anyway!

  • I'm totally on your side.  I most definitely would have done that. Friends of ours did that too with their baby girl.  He drilled holes at the top of each one and they're hanging by a light pink ribbon above her changing table.

P.S. Bryson Kade Stoker has a perfect flow/ring to it :)

P.P.S. the first middle name that popped into my mouth when I said Riley was Riley Ann.

  • nesting is completely natural! haha, i buy stuff for our house all of the time and i'm not even pregnant. at least you have a physical reason to shop :) haha
  • Sometimes time saved is way better then money saved.  And they were still on sale!  I totally understand your logic especially if Hobby Lobby is out of your way!  There will be plenty of other things to save money on too.

I am stressed about planning a nursery when the time comes.  We are planning on selling our house and moving after the baby comes so I really can't go all out until we get a new house.  Its going to be hard.  H hardly lets me put holes in the walls to hang things now!

Anne is my dog's middle name (Bailey Anne). Ha.  Riley's middle name will be Grace. :)
