Morning all!
No workout last night, but I did paint the ceiling, so my arms were burning from that. That counts, right?
Tonight (fingers crossed nothing comes up) my coworker/friend is coming over to help Derek figure out the plumbing situation in the kitchen. This is the last big thing that needs to be done before the cabinets that have been hanging out all over the main floor can actually be installed. This is exciting.
Meka, our older cat, has started ninja attacking my legs again. She used to do this before we got Chloe but stopped when she had her to pick on. Derek jokes that the hierarchy in our house is him, Meka, me, and she seems to be reasserting that. Derek Corporal Cuddled her last night after she bit me and this morning she was all lovey and rubbing against me, but we'll see what happens tonight. Darn cat.
How is everyone today?
Re: Happy Hump Day!
Morning ladies.
I have an extremely busy day at work today between meetings, and trying to get through a lot of files on my desk. Have to love year end/tax season. I am planning on working a little late to hopefully get through some extra work.
Nothing to exciting for me. DH was home lastnight so we hung out for a while just talking in bed after the boys went down. I seriously love that time.
Thats about it, tonight is the same old same old. Have a great day ladies.
Good morning! Last night was mostly uneventful--I was able to get out of work a bit early thanks to the server going down, and we had a good book club discussion. I got home and ended up calling Josh to talk for a while before going to bed.
This morning I was late thanks to Metro (again) even though I got to the train station earlier than usual--I swear, this system is going to drive me out of D.C. before anything else does. Today I'm just hoping to get a good bit of work done, then head home to get a run in. Josh is flying home this afternoon, so I'll see him not too long after I get back from the gym.
Some good news: I've been offered a freelance writing gig with a big university. I don't know if I can take it (between crazy work and the review website, my time's tight), but it'd be a way to work in higher education issues again (which I've been missing) and start to build a freelance business. We'll see--but it's nice to get the offer!
One of my cats definitely does this too. She is the worst when I'm trying to go to bed. I'll turn off the lights and she'll come after me. I think this usually happens when she decides that I haven't played with her enough that day.
My night was good. I got home and worked out. Then I cooked dinner, as well as stuff that I could bring to work for breakfast and lunch this week. I spent most of night in the kitchen but at least I felt productive.
Funny story, while Kyle and I were working out our dog Jake decided that he was hungry. I had a pound of ground beef defrosting in the sink. When I finished working out I asked Kyle where he put the ground beef. He said that it was in the sink. Nope. Jake ate the pound of ground beef, packaging and all. He also ate a fruit cup that Kyle had left sitting out on the counter. He tried eating two cans of tuna as well, but couldn't get through the metal cans (although he dented them up quite a bit). The sink has always been a safe place to leave food, but lesson learned, there is no longer any safe place in our kitchen to hide food from Jake.
Tonight I'm hoping for another workout. Otherwise I don't have too much planned.
Good Morning!
Its going to be a steady day at work but nothing busy. My bff who I normally chat with all thru out the day is having her wisdom teeth taken out today so she is out of work for the rest of the week. That is going to make for a longer day.
DH was off last night so we got some cleaning done and went to bed early. I put a roast in the crockpot for supper tonight so I am exctied to have that done when I get home. I love going inside and smelling supper already done. It really makes my day.
Good morning, ladies.
I made it to spin this morning. It's hard to get there, but I'm always glad I did.
Busy work day, especially with my friend out unexpectedly with the early delivery of her baby. Our group wasn't ready for her to be gone so soon.
Cheddar does that too, raynes. He'll circle my feet like a shark, then attack. It's ok when I'm wearing shoes or slippers, but he will go for socks too.
Have a great day, everyone!
Good morning, everyone. I don't have much to report today. I should be super busy at work, but that's usually a good thing.
I've started a new business and I really want to tell you about it, but I don't want to run afoul of the Nest terms of service. I don't even know if I can say this. Anyway, I've been spending some time in the evenings getting that launched.

I want to know about the new business! Good luck with it.
The kids I nanny have pink eye and so far I have been left unscathed, lots of hand washing. Wont lie though, just being around kids with itchy red eyes make me want to itch mine.
It snowed all day yesterday and I can hear cars screeching outside of my apartment building, so glad I got snow tires.
Reba- would love to hear more about your business. If there is a way around the rules I'd say go for it. Good Luck!
I think you can mention the business, as long as you're not selling anything here!
So, I slipped on a patch of black ice this morning - full on fall flat on my butt. It looked like a prat fall on a banana peel. Of course, now I'm all paranoid that all the regular twinges that I feel mean that something is horribly wrong. I'm a total hypochondriac, so I'm sure it's fine. I mean, it wasn't a bad fall (I've probably flopped on couches harder), no bruises (my butt is a mighty fine cushion), but I'm a little stressed nonetheless.

How about I PM folks, if they ask?
Sorry about the fall; it sounds painful. I'd be totally freaked out and run to the doctor.

Good morning! Must be something in the atmosphere making all the pets go crazy! Last night I spent an 1 1/2 hrs cleaning my bedroom and master bath after Bailey went nuts yesterday. She shredded a full roll of toilet paper, pulled apart one of her foam balls, and peed in my closet. I know she's getting really sick of hiding out in our bedroom because she afraid of the dog that staying with us. Hopefully she'll be back to normal after Jake and his dog leave on Friday.
Just a normal work day for me. Things are finally starting so slow down and I think I have most of the tax stuff ready to go out. Tonight I'm hoping for a quick dinner, a good workout, and a nice bubble bath.
I wouldn't be too concerned about your fall. Your LO is so nicely cushioned up in your ute that it would take a LOT more than just a fall on the butt to shake them up!
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
Have you tried leaving food in the microwave (not on)? That's what B and I do for a very similar reason to yours. When we first moved in together, B had taken a chicken breast out of the freezer to defrost and left it in the sink. When we got home, the chicken breast was gone. I was just convinced that B thought he took it out but hadn't. Hours later we found the 3/4 eaten package of chicken upstairs. Mies, our only cat at the time, had dragged it out of the sink, off the counter, up a flight of stairs, underneath a baby gate (we were gating the dog and cat apart at the time), and feasted on it. Ever since then, we've always let food defrost in the microwave during the day.
Yesterday was a bit of a nightmare. Our carbon monoxide detector when off at 1:00 AM. We ended up having the fire department come out and check out our place, and it turns out it's just time to replace the detector. I'm very glad nothing was wrong, but I'm exhausted today as a result.
It is so windy here today. 50 to 70+ mph winds. It really makes me not want to go to class. Last night C and I got Sparky a coat because he has been so cold. Both the dogs did well at the store. We came home and watched tv. I crafted some new things for the bedroom re-do and did homework.
I hope all of you have a great day!!
Morning ladies! Last night we hung out at my parents house for a bit and then they left to fix something at their tenants house so my moms birthday dinner was pushed back to tomorrow night. Then the IL's came over to visit so we ordered pizza and just hung out. I did some laundry and we watched the new episode of Southland.
Today is SIL's birthday so we're going to their house. They're grilling burgers so we'll just have dinner their. After that I hope to watch a few DVR shows and get to bed early if possible. Hope everyone has a good day.
Good afternoon!
I have to go to an 8-hour orientation for work today. Very boring. But after this my ID will be activated and I'll be able to go to the parks for free, so no worries. Training has been really fun so far and I'm learning a lot. For the first time I feel like I could "sell" to someone. It's very exciting.
I'm home today with the end of a stomach bug. Either that, or I'm miraculously pregnant again. Let's hope that's not the case. I'm so not ready for another one. Jackson seems to have been super spitty and pukey the last few days, so I think I just caught whatever he had from daycare. I actually feel alright today, but my stomach isn't letting me eat, since I haven't had anything for about 36 hours or so. Great way to slim the waistline I guess.
I finally sorted through some pictures that I've been meaning to do, and I've been teaching myself how to crochet again. I'm working ona beanie for the bub. It's a bit pointy on top, but pretty good for a first time.
It's so nice to be home with the house all quiet and the dogs passed out all around. I'm off to make a sandwich, since we finally have some lunch meat in the house. I'll probably make it pretty small, since I think that's all I can handle for now.
Reba - I'd love to know what side business you've been working on!
I took a snow day today. The roads suck. I just found out only 4 people went in out of 12, so I don't feel bad.
And I already AW'd it in another post, but I got a job offer today!

Last night DH and I tried to get to bed early and were somewhat successful.
This morning I got up early for ellipically and biking at the gym. It feels so good to get my workout done early. This morning at work, things were extremely hectic but thankfully calmed down by the afternoon. I did have to stay 15 mins OT and now we are rushing out the door to run some quick errands before prenatal class.
Thankfully I don't work tomorrow and I have my OB appointment. It's early in the morning but after that I have the whole day to myself. yay!
