My friend called a sleep consult and had turned in a log of 2 weeks of sleep patterns and feelings. Sleep person said it is severe and silent reflux and that Zantac does nothing. That she needs Pilosec (sp?!). Ad needs to meet with doctors for a tube down her nose to check erision of esophagus. THEN once this is fixed person said ah will need to re sleep train her. Thank you for all the tips and personal experiences, I forwarded them to her.

I told her to look for a new pediatrician since she has been been telling them its reflux for 11 months. The sleep person said that she has seen Zantac work for maybe 2 in 100 families. That doctors apparently prescribe in because its mild and the new thing is "my baby has reflux" for a lot of mothers so Drs. give it out to "shut us up". Again C was on it for 2 weeks because they thought she had it until they figure out her reflux is in her kidneys.
So she has to weight another week for that appointment and go from there at this point. She has only talked to sleep people on the phone because for them to come to your house is $1,500 for 3 nights. EEK! Hopefully this is the real problem and then she can start to the sleep training over without holding her.
Thanks Melis. She goes the drops and cereal in bottle. Apparently she arches, screams and is uncontrollable between 20-40 minutes after every feeding, either food or bottle. She has been on every formula out there and settled on Similac Sensitive. They have lifted mattress but she is a stander and climber already, so that makes it easier for her to get out of crib. So that is why they were holding and rocking her to sleep but due to the reflux she wakes up quickly once they put her down.
Hopefully the tube test will give answers and new medicine will help. I just know I cannot imagine a baby who doesn't sleep more then 20-30 minutes a clip ALL DAY especially at that age. I feel bad.
