CW Picks up Prequel Series "The Carrie Diaries" S&TC

I'm not sure what to think. The last thing the CW did that I liked was Veronica Mars so my hopes aren't high. Any ideas on who they'll cast? Does anyone know who the main characters are? The other three girls didn't meet Carrie until later on, right?

    I would watch this so long as the writing and acting are decent.

    Says the person who watches Gossip Girl.  Heck, I will be happy with just beautiful clothes and great NYC shots.  This has to be in the 80's and 90's, so I'm already sold on this show (they were my formative years too).

    if it goes by the book...it's not set in NYC. she doesn't move there until after high school, at the very end of the book. and yeah, totally different characters from SATC.

    Oh, I never read the books.  But I did know that Carrie did not grow up in NYC.  derrr

    I'm curious about how this will turn out.  I still think the 80's/90's styles will be pretty fashion forward since I can't see Carrie Bradshaw's style magically happening the second she sets foot in NYC.  One of the Executive Producers is from Gossip Girl which gives me some hope on the casting not being too bad.  I think it could be fun since that was my middle school and high school years too.

    I'll watch it, but I watch almost everything on the CW and give almost all new shows a chance (I didn't bother with The Ringer).
