Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
How does it work from a cell phone? I can just dial and based on my location it will connect me to the closest dispatch? I hope to never have to use it, yet it is seeming more and more likely I will. TIA
Re: Stupid ? re: 9-1-1
Yep, that's exactly how it works! You might check your phone after you hang up though - sometimes the phones will remain in "emergency" mode and you have to go into the settings to change it back to regular settings in order to make any other calls or do anything else.
I have had to use it - not fun - but extremely handy. I hope, for your sake, that you never have to use it.
I assume that's how it would work, but I guess I don't know for sure.
Maybe you should also program the local emergency line into your phone, just in case.
