Benefit overview and interview following

I am a graduate student that applied for a job that I *dream* to obtain after graduation. Well, I have an interview on the 2nd for this position. I meet with a benefits coordinator and 30 minutes later I meet with the CEO/COO.

FWIW, this is a position in healthcare. I have worked in the field for the past seven years, so I have the hands on experience.

Is this common for higher level positions? I'm currently a manager and never have meet for benefits overview prior to the interview.

Re: Benefit overview and interview following

  • You're concerned because someone went over benefits with you? In my experience it's pretty common to have that conversation as part of an interview.

  • I'm not concerned, just different process than what I have experienced previously.

  • In my experience it's pretty normal to go over it a bit during the interview process. If they are really interested in hiring you then, they will go more in depth.

  • It's pretty normal.  I had an interview where the benefits were discussed in full detail.  I never got the job, but they wanted to make sure that I understood the benefits package.
