Someone needs a slap!

Right now on MTV is a show on two guys in their 20's who have to register as sex offenders due to sexual relations with younger girls.

The one guy thinks it's unfair. His situation:

He was 17 dating a 15 year old girl. They got intimate, father found out and reported him. He was arrested, but somehow couldn't prove anything, so he got off (no pun intended) with nothing.

HE STARTS DATING A 14 YEAR OLD. Same thing happens. This time, charges stick.

WTF??? He was 18 the second time around, and even just told his lawyer it's not his fault her parents let their daughter around adults (aka him). Seriously.

I realize MTV could  be portraying him in a certain way, but some of the things coming out of his mouth are just Indifferent

  • I would say the first one is "okay" (eh.. sorta. I know that happened to a few people in my HS). The second part? no way. 4 years isn't a big deal in your 20s+ but 14 and 18 is weird. That's a HS senior or college freshman and an 8th or 9th grader.

The more I thought about it, 2 years isn't horrendous, but the second relationship was sketchy (even with how the first one ended!). His friend said "You wouldn't be in this mess if you would have kept it in your pants." He had no comment.

  • I dated a 16-17 year old when I was 14-15 so I don't think the two year thing is weird. But 14 and 18? Like, at 18, what do you really have in common with someone who's in middle school/freshman year? And if you've already been in trouble for something such as a statutory rape charge, aren't you going to be careful the next time around? Maybe date in your age group??
