Work Clothes

Where do you ladies buy your work clothes, specifically shirts?

Since having Mason I have not been able to wear most of my old shirts that I used to wear. I dont want to spend tons of money but I want to look somewhat dressed up.

Currently I am pumping still and so most days I wear a tank top and a cardigan so its easy to pump. I am just bored with my lack of clothes and getting dressed is no fun. :(

TIA!!

Re: Work Clothes

  • I love Ann Taylor Loft but I really only buy from the clearance section because their prices have steadily increased over the years.  I also can find some decent professional clothes at Old Navy usually.  They have nice work pants and casual work tops I would say.. sometimes dressy work tops.  I'm a teacher so I don't dress extremely conservative as in a suit or button down shirt, but I do dress up most days since I teach high school and I want to look older and be treated as a professional.
  • I shop at Banana Republic, Ann Taylor Loft and Macy's for most of my work tops.  They're pretty reliable places for professional looking clothes.  Occasionally I'll find something appropriate at the Gap or H&M, but they're less of a go-to for me.
  • I like to shop at White House Black Market, Anthropologie (when I feel like my bank account can handle it), Ann Taylor/Loft, Francesca's, Banana Republic, the Limited.

I don't work, but those are the places I always go to when I am at the mall :)

  • Express and Limited have some nice tops. If you are lucky you can find something good on clearance or there are always coupons floating around.  Good luck!

  • Oh and what about adding a few nice blazer's to your wardrobe?  I was just at White House Black Market and they had some super cute ones.....

I especially like this blazer, even considered buying it, but I don't have anywhere to wear it to :(  The online picture does the jacket no justice!

Or what about adding some scarves?  I love scarves.  I wear them all the effin' time!  You can pick some cheap ones up at Forever 21.

  • I agree with limited, express, and add New York and Company to that too.

  • I just got a new job, and so I'm currently looking for work clothes too. I have a "uniform" where I'm currently working, so it was easy.

I've been successful at Loft, NY&C, Express, Banana Republic and JCrew.

  • LOFT has great sales, though I normally find sweaters here and skirts. Their pants don't fit me well.  Their style is more casual.

White House, Black Market for pants and suits. I've gotten great deals at the outlet and their pants are long, flattering and comfortable.

    Banana Republic pants and dresses.

ah good one Junie, I have recently started shopping at NY and Co.  I got several great tops that were a little nicer (like chiffon and silkier fabrics) that look great under jackets or with dress pants.  Their pants don't fit me all that well but there other stuff is nice and they have sales pretty often.
