I woke up to the realization today that my baby girl is due in exactly 4 months. I had always planned to sew/crochet everything for a nursery, which means I better get cracking! I've been VERY sick until just a couple of weeks ago, and haven't so much as touched my sewing machine my entire pregnancy, let alone search out patterns. I feel out of the crafty loop.
I have these fantastic vintage-looking sheets that I want to use for her curtains, and to make a quilt out of. I'm looking for a pattern that will allow me to use just white as the background, and the sheet fabric for the pattern part (no additional fabrics). I've been thinking of something like an Ohio star pattern, but am just not sold yet. Can anyone direct me to a pattern that would be great for using only two fabrics?
Re: ISO a quilt pattern
I've been dying to have a reason to make this quilt. I think you could adapt it very well if your sheets kinda go together. It's a very sweet pattern.

This quilt pattern would probably work with two fabrics as well. I know that a lot of people have been making a 2x2 version as a baby quilt:

The blocks are a little involved, but they are so huge they are worth it.

I want to see what you come up with!!!
Currently I'm working on my baby quilt as well!

One word of caution about using sheets in a quilt. Generally, sheets have a higher thread count than the typical cottons used in quilting. Quilting with sheets can actually break the threads (rather than push the threads aside) when the needle punctures the fabric. This can make the sheet very difficult to quilt, or if it's truly a vintage sheet, it might fall apart when you start to sew it.
Before you go to the trouble of cutting all your pieces, I would piece and quilt a sample of a couple squares first just to make sure this fabric will work for you.
