Ruth's Chris or Chart House/Friends or No Friends

DH's birthday is coming up.  Last year was a milestone birthday but we "celebrated" at Johns Hopkins Crying

I want this  year to be a "do over" birthday.  His two favorite restaurants are Ruth's Chris and Chart House.  He does not like to try new places for special events.

I like both and can't make a decision.

Then, I thought about inviting friends to celebrate with us.  In our circle, that means no prezzies but you pay for your check.  I am thinking if I do that I would stick with Chart House as they have "less" expensive items on the menu.  It would be no more then 6 friends, probably 4.

Am I overthinking this?

  • on his actual b-day, i'd probably celebrate at ruth's chris just the two of you and then have a second celebration with friends at the chart house the previous or following weekend. i think after last year, you both deserve lots of extra celebrating this year.

Another vote for this.  Do 2.  You both deserve it!

  • I like Chart House better for a group and I think the view in Alexandria is nicer than the RC atmosphere. We did a group dinner when DH's dad was in town a few years ago at CH and they gave us that lighthouse looking room and it was nice and pretty private.

Also, I like the idea of doing both :-)
