decision made - resort recommendations in Virginia Beach

Ok we decided on Virginia Beach, I need to make these reservations STAT!  So please recommend a nice resort, prefer suites or condos that have a good outdoor pool, restaurant, bar, good ammentities please.  Thanks!

Re: decision made - resort recommendations in Virginia Beach

  • In all honestly, I've never stayed at any of these because we never needed to but here are three that come to mind:

Courtyard Virginia Beach Oceanfront (37th Street) - oceanfront

The Ocean Beach Club Resort (34th Street) - www.vboceanbeachclub.com -oceanfront

Turtle Cay Resort (6th Street) - www.turtlecay.com - one small block from ocean

Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront - (30th Street)  oceanfront - although probably one of the nicest resorts in VB, I don't get the impression that it is as kid-friendly as the others I mentioned above.

    Hope this helps!

  • We would always stay at the Dolphin Run. It's far enough away from the boardwalk that you avoid the craziness, but it's still easy to get there if you want to go shopping.

  • The Ocean Beach Club has been undergoing major expansion (adding a new tower) and I don't know if it'll be done by July.  I know it's still open, but with all the construction, it wouldn't be my first choice

I haven't stayed at any of the hotels, just a condo in Edgewater (36th street).  Most of the Boardwalk fun is from 24th St to 30th St so I'd target around there if you want proximity.  But that's also probably the most expensive and crowded.

  • Thanks.  I was looking at the Ocean Beach Club but read about their construction.  I'll maybe call and see when they think it'll be done.
