I have noticed the most judgmental people are the ones that seem the most miserable. The people who support our decision most are the ones truly happy, even those with kids who understand its just not for everyone.
I've actually had quite a few people (with kids) say they would have reconsidered having them if they knew how hard it was and that we are pretty smart in our decision.
I've had them since college or they came with my husband. But it appears I'm really lucky at finding not attracting judgy ppl in the first place.
I think bars and meetup.com are the best bet.
The majority of my friends are parents. It took some getting used to for one couple only, but all my other friends were cool with my decision and did not judge me. The majority of my friends are those from high school.
I am drawing a blank, on the name, but there is a meet-up group for child-free people. Ummm... I think GLW and/or Liz have been to an outing, so they can help you with the name of the group. There aren't any chapters near me.
It is No Kidding and they had a huge convention here last year!
I didn't go but was really considering it around the time.
Like Jenny, most of my regular friends are cool and non-judgy about it.
Yeah, we have several CF couples we have met thru the H's hot rod hangouts, like car shows, the drag strip, and the usual Saturday night muscle car gatherings. If you are gonna have a money pit, people who choose muscle cars over babies are our kind of people!

I really don't get judgement from anyone, especially since none of the friends I see on a regular basis have kids. In my family, my parents were the only ones on either side that had kids (out of their siblings) until the last few years. My uncle (married) and aunt (divorced a couple times) don't have kids and they have wonderful lives.
