I got a call yesterday that my BRCA1 test results are back. I go to meet with the doctor tomorrow on my lunch break to find out. For those that don't know what this is, BRCA1 test determines whether I carry the gene that puts me at risk for breast cancer. My aunt and mom both had/have breast cancer with my aunt being positive for BRCA1 gene error.
The next couple months are full of doctors appts. I have to go to the gastro doctor to see if he can find the reason for my abd pain that I've had since last january since my pcp and obgyn have no clue what it is. Then my son has an appt next month with the urologist because he doesn't have the urgency that is needed with potty training. I think it has to do with the urology surgery he had at 17 months. On top of that I've been taking Z around to his appts for his arm.
I took off yesterday to take him since he didn't have anyone that could drive him around. I'm really glad I did because the stupid army clinic wanted to send him to some crackpot doctor at a horrible hospital to do surgery on his arm and they wouldn't be able to see him until today. I stepped in and got him an appt yesterday with an amazing ortho surgeon. Z has to call back after deciding which route he wanted to take, going without surgery for 4-6 weeks out of commission with a possibility of needing surgery if it didn't heal right or sugery now in which he'll be back in action after a week. He is going with the surgery so we just need to know what day so I can take him.
