When You're sick

How do you combat a fever with cold chills? I keep pulling the blanket up and shoving it off.

I feel miserable.

Re: When You're sick

  • I use a sheet instead of a blanket, a little thinner so it doesn't get as hot.

sorry you are sick!   Have you upped your water intake, vitamin C, and other immune boosters yet?   Get some Echinacea if you haven't already!

  • I usually just let myself sweat. I figure I can sweat it out of me.

  • I took 4 vitamins this morning, which my doctor said was okay if I'm sick. I've got a thin blanket on me..one I made. I just hate this. I have a fever of about 101 right now and my normal temperature is about  96-97 degrees so it's fairly high for me. I just hate today.

  • Are you alternating Tylenol and Advil?

  • I have never had the chills when sick. I don't even know when I last had a fever. But I know when I am hot and sleeping with a blanket I will keep my legs out of the covers.

That's what I've been doing. This is my first high fever in forever.

Lisa, I would take those but since I get frequent migraines, Advil and Tylenol do not work.

  • 1. Hot, steamy shower.

    2. Tylenol + Ibuprophen 2 hours later (then take both every four hours)

    3. Bed and Breakfast at Tiffany's followed by the Princess Bride

    4. When movies complete, repeat step 1-3

Tylenol/Ibuprophen do nothing for me so I don't take them. Cold medicine isn't helping either. I've been on the couch since 5 when I woke up from not being able to breathe (which is where I found out I drooled all night long). I also have to take a form to H so we can FINALLY get health insurance and I can FINALLY get my BCP for 10 bucks a month and go to a freaking doctor.
