Follow-up: Uverse Pricing

So I made that call and talked to a very nice man.  I told him that our bill had been increasing over time and I was in the process of shopping around and they were the highest.  I wanted to know what he could do before I make my final decision.  He did ask me what the lowest rate I found was.  I told him I wasn't sure and I didn't know what their lowest rate was yet.  Anyway, he knocked about $30 off of our monthly bill and was able to stop the pending rate increase (look at your bill, I didn't even notice it was coming).

He removed the $7 a month receiver fee (x2) = $14
Took $5 a month off phone
Increased our internet speed to the highest level at the same price
Took $10 off our cable bill
He also gave me a $10/mo Loyalty Credit

Worth the call if you think your bill is too high!

Re: Follow-up: Uverse Pricing

  • Yep, we got $75 off b/c I've been an att customer for 10+ years with no late payments ever.

We pay $109 for my cell + data/text/etc, u-verse internet and tv.

  • Awesome deal!  I don't have our phone through Uverse, just TV and internet.  They increased our internet speed as well, but I haven't really noticed a difference.

We don't have landline through them, either.

When they tell us they increase our speed, I never notice.  I always wonder if it's one of those things they tell you to make you feel better, like you are more valued.

  • Unless you are an online gamer or do something that requires continuous bandwidth you probably won't notice an increase in the speed.  Since I VPN to work and have remote desktop sessions with my servers... I notice a huge difference in an increase, simply because my sessions don't lag so much. :)  My DH plays WoW and the new Star Wars and he could tell a huge difference when our speed was boosted up.

  • And thanks for the tip Brandi!  We just switched to Uverse internet and combined our directv service with them... I'll definitely keep an eye on our bill.

  • I am so jealous. I am blocks away from being able to have uverse. Instead I am stuck with really subpar Comcast service for $100/month.
