What's Good today?

Even with all the sickness and such, there's a silver lining somewhere, right?   Anything good to report, so we can channel some positive energy into this place?

My silver lining is that they weighed me yesterday and I had not been on a scale since maybe August.     I had to do a double take when it showed my current weight, it's way lower than I expected.   I know everyone else has told me it looked like a big weight loss but when I look in the mirror I didn't see it for myself.  I thought it was like 10 pounds, but it happened to be more than that that I dropped.

  • I'm getting a raise since I'm doing the work of three people now.  They'll tell me by the end of the week how much it is...it should be very substantial.

I will be walking on my ankle soon - 4 months is the cut off for non-weight bearing, and it's been 3 months and almost 3 weeks.  My next appt is Friday.

  • H is doing all the cooking and cleaning tonight since he wants me to relax and rest. I told him soup isn't hard to make and he said he didn't care. I guess that's mine Stick out tongue. Oh that and I left an empty box on the floor and Lillie didn't eat it

  • I woke MH up for sex at 3am. He just called to gush over how awesome it was so I guess it was worth the sleep deprivation!

  • I'm still employed, so that's good.

I am FINALLY going out with another couple that lives only a mile from us. We always get together in groups, but never take advantage of our close proximity.

Erin, have you been dieting or is this a side effect of not feeling well?

I finally cleaned up my apartment last night. I didn't get to everything but it is a big improvement since I can now see my dining room table!

  • Good news is that we will be able to enter the new pup into the local shelter's adoption program but keep him as our foster until he's adopted out. This means that the shelter will pay for his neuter, shots, and any other medical expenses along with food, collar, crate, etc. We're still going to pay for his food and we have a collar but we will take them up on the crate (and give it back when he's adopted out) and let them pay for the vet stuff.

I feel much better about this situation rather than taking him to the shelter when we are perfectly capable of keeping him for now. We thought long and hard about keeping him for good, but it just doesn't make sense right now. We're still training him so that he can be the best pet possible for the next family, and I really think he'll be adopted out quickly because he really is such a sweet dog.

  • The pain and cramping are gone and I'm feeling well enough to be at work!

I don't know if anyone remembers me talking about this, but I had been trying to get a copy of my grandpa's will from my step-aunt for a few months.  My dad was trying to obtain a copy when he passed, so I wanted to see his last wishes fulfilled.  Well, yesterday the lawyer sent me a copy.  It's so nice to have that piece of mind now, knowing that both Grandpa and Dad are getting what they wanted.

I called my mom and went over what it said, which was basically that there were no provisions for dad in the will (we pretty much knew this already, so it wasn't a shock by any means), and she was happy to hear that dad's wishes were fulfilled as well.  She even called my step-aunt to thank her for having it sent over finally, and it turns out that the reason it took her so long to get us a copy was because she was terrified that we were going to go ballistic when we found out that dad wasn't allotted anything.  For the 800th or so time, my mom explained that we weren't looking for money, we were looking for piece of mind and confirmation that my dad's sister was being compensated properly.  We already knew that dad probably wasn't in the will since it was written at a time when he and grandpa were on bad terms.  We just wanted to see it because dad had wanted to see it.  So, that mended some fences between my mom and my step-aunt!  I think everyone can stop being so f-ing paranoid now!

Sorry, that got long.  For being in the ER for part of it, yesterday was a really busy day for me.  I am, however, feeling good and happy today!

  • MN - That's great!  I'm glad they're finally compensating you!

Mac - I'm so glad you got that situation figured out.  It seemed to be stressing you out hard core.  It's nice that you can keep him and make sure he's safe and happy until he finds a permanent home.

I hope you can get on FB, I just sent you lengthy message about this.   In short, it could be.    But I was losing weight before I started feeling the pain.

  • I have been told by 3 different people today that I look really good, and I actually got up early and worked out this morning, so I am feeling good as well!

  • I went swing dancing last night, and it made me way happier than I've felt in weeks. I danced and talked with one guy most all night, and got his number because he does a bit of rock climbing and I'm looking for new partners. I can only boulder by myself, but it would be great if we could get together and climb a little! :)

  • I got out of the house and went to the library this morning!
