Registry Question

On a friends registry, she has an electric wine bottle opener, but it gets really crappy review, so I kind of don't want to buy it. The one we have is amazing and we love it, and it's a little cheaper.

Would you stick to the one on the registry or get her the better one and then tell her that this one gets better reviews?

(I like to do theme gifts and i'm kind of hell bent on getting the opener, 2 wine glasses, a picnic basket and a blanket)

I'd get the one you like, tell her when she opens it that you have it and love it, but also provide a gift receipt in case she'd like to return it.

This. I usually buy what's on the registry, but in this case I would get the other one.

Can you get the one you like from the same store where she's registered? That way if she didn't like it, she could take it back and get the other one.

Personally, I wouldn't mind--I'd be glad you had looked into it and gotten one that worked instead of one that didn't.

Is there any way you can mark the other wine opener as "purchased" on her registry? My only concern would be that someone else will buy that one for her, and then she'd have two. So I'd give a gift receipt just in case.

She wants a wine opener. She may want that particular one, in which case she'll return yours. If you don't know how meticulously she researched her registry, you won't know which she'd prefer. I'd get her what you think she'd like. I personally would do the one you like. You don't even have to admit you looked at her registry.

. I would do the same as the previous people - get the one that works and you like, but provide a gift receipt.

Yeah - that's how we ended up with ours. lol... buuut It is really pretty convenient.

I'm just going to get the one I have. Not only is it way cheaper, but it gets great reviews. She'll have to deal lol
