I'm still here, work and Arbonne overload!

I'm here lurking but I have been busy at work so I haven't had much time to post during the day. Evenings I'm trying to work on my game plan for my Arbonne business. If any of you ladies do network marketing stuff (like Pampered Chef, etc?) and have any tips PLEASE share them! I'm struggling mostly getting the nerve to call people (friends) even though I really am enthusiastic about the products. I think I'm pretty down to earth so I don't want to start acting different and come off "sales-y".

Re: I'm still here, work and Arbonne overload!

  • I worked for Kirby for a while in college, and although it is way different, it is still direct selling. There were a lot of people that I worked with that were pushy/defensive/almost rude. I couldn't believe it. I took the approach of just talking to people about the product, rather than getting all salesman-y. If you are selling a good product and you are confident in it, you don't need to use any kinds of lines or extra things. When it comes to talking to friends/family, find a way to bring it up in conversation. Don't call someone directly only to talk about the product. That annoys people. When you are talking, bring up that you have been busy getting that business going lately, and explain to them exactly what it is in the same way that you would explain a new car you had just bought for yourself.

Kind of a rambling, but hope that helps!!!

  • All the people I work with are pretty nice, which definitely helps make it more enjoyable, but I guess I get tired of being texted by my BFF asking how my biz is going (which she's supposed to do, be supportive and offer help since she's my "sponsor"/upline). It is a way to keep in contact with her but I'd rather us be on the phone talking about each of our experiences to help bounce ideas off each other like we did last Sat in person. The girl who's been "training" us is kind of more pushy IMO and unfortunately has been so busy I feel like I've been left to figure a lot of stuff out on my own which annoys me. She is pretty good at what she does so I guess I have to give her props for that and as she said "the best copycat wins".

Thank you so much for the suggestions on how to talk to people about this, the car analogy is a great example!

  • I don't have any advice for you as I have never ventured down that path.  Just wanted to say good luck!
