School Zoning...
Sorry, some how I posted under a email I never use.
just went to do my DD's school choice. We live close to a school I do not want her going to. (Springstead, for all the Hernando county people) So on the form, they asked what school she is zoned for. Well, since SHS is close I assumed it would be that. But, Nature Coast is also closer than any other HS so I wanted to call and check. They tell me she is zoned for Central! It''s 9.34 miles from our house!! So to take her to school I would drive past 2 high schools. I'm trying to get her into WWHS which is only 8 miles from our house! (I thought that was far)
Who does these zones?

I'm sure you can attend school board meetings or contact individual board members to have your voice heard.

Yes, Central is off Sunshine grove, and that school would be ok, but WWHS has better programs. And WWHS is 8 miles from my house and CHS is 9.34 miles. I was just worried about her going to Springstead, which is 1.2 miles from my house.
I don't know why I bother! But, everyone in Hernando knows you can't spell Springstead without STD! So I for sure was not lettting my kid go there!
