How long do you stay at a job that's just a job?
I found a job that's just a job. And I know that when you take a job like this you need to stick around awhile before looking again, out of respect to your employer and such. And my job is a pleasant job and I don't particularly want to leave at this moment. I wonder though, how much time do you think needs to pass before one starts looking again? My boss knows I wont be here for 10 years, but I have no idea how long he expects me to stick around.
Re: How long do you stay at a job that's just a job?
I've been wondering the same thing. I've been at both my part time jobs for 2 years. One is really starting to wear me down so I've been contemplating quitting.
GL with your decision.
You don't *need* to stick around if this will be your only short-term job. You can easily look for something more in line with what you want and leave when you find something.
Job hopping, however, is frowned upon.
